Jjhooke69 Yes, same thing here, quality is still nowhere where it should be, my Q3 looks way better than my AVP. Like @Jjhooke69 says, when you download and play with moonplayer it's a huge difference in quality. It's definitely not just a matter of resolution. Looks more like it's rendered in a too low color mode or something like that.

DannyF Yeah it doesn't look good. But I'm sure it will get fixed. When downloaded, you can play with 3rd party apps like moonplayer and then the video's look awesome, actually better than on the Quest3, because the AVP obviously has higher resolution panels and OLED colors. But the HUGE downside at the moment is that there's no way to activate passthrough, not even for downloaded video's. So until that works, the Quest3 clearly is the winner for porn.

The only way you could get passthrough I guess is through ALVR. Haven't tried it yet but not expecting much of it because I hate compression. But will give it a try soon.

harigeharry we have added settings to the player, so you can try to play a bit with image and see if it helps
But the team is still experimenting with this, we have passed on a small update yesterday, which should make the quality better

Jjhooke69 Not yet, we are actively working on a new Hub, which will be available as part of VR Mode, so you will be able to search and filter videos in immersive mode as currently possible in DeoVR app.

Kieshi Hey Kieshi, I hadnt even tried yet but man it looks WAY better now!! It's still a bit quirky but the colors look great now!

This particular demo video above I can switch to 4k and it works. However the normal videos in the video's section I cant seem to switch to higher than 1980p.

All in all, great progress, we're getting there!

The quality is still a bit lower though than it should be, but it's a lot better. Also the frame rate is too low. But again, great progress.

harigeharry we were testing with this demo and testing went good, so you can expect higher quality on the rest of the library in the near future

All the new SLR videos from now on are getting AVP compatible encoding. Also slowly but steady will be converting the whole database. Going to take some few month. AVP encodings are perfectly compatible with all active headsets.

What does that mean? Could you be more specific?

Edit: I think you mean AVP compatible format (Apple's custom version of mp4).

doublevr Looking forward to it. Just to clarify will all new SLR Originals get the AVP compatible encoding or ALL videos on the SLR site get encodings? If its only the new SLR Originals moving forward it looks like there is an upcoming release tomorrow, "Nympho Alchemy: Method Acting".

doublevr I just tested, all new video's seem to default to 1080p, can't set it higher it seems. The colors are still washed out and the frame rate is not high enough, so it all still looks quite bad. But I understand you guys are working on it.

When I download a video and THEN play it (with moonplayer for example), it works perfectly. And it looks SO good, much better than the Quest3 !! So really hoping you guys can get that going, preferably via the deoVR app. But it's my understanding that the dev is working on that. Can't wait 🙂

And moonplayer still doesnt do passthrough of course. But man, it looks good, it's going to be awesome when it's all up and running!

harigeharry "can't set it higher it seems" you mean max possible quality setting you see is 1080 and there is no option higher than that, do I understand you correctly?

Kieshi Actually I just tried again and I see that I actually can set it back to 1920p, which was the higest playable resolution before. That works. But anything higher and it flips back to 1920p. Colors still washed out and frame rate seems a problem. What it seems to me is that it doesnt sync the hz to the headset, it plays for example at 24 hz while the headset plays at 90 hz, causing continually small hickups, so it seems something like that. What I'm saying is, it seems the same effect when you try to play a 24 hz video on a TV that syncs at 90hz. Since 90 cant be evenly divided by 24, this then causes small hiccups every second or so. It feels like a hz mismatch between the display's frequency and what the software sends to the headset.
