  • Better support for offline video playback

I often download videos from SLR so I can watch them offline. However, there are some features missing which makes this a worse experience compared to streaming. So here are some feature ideas that would make DeoVR much better for handling offline videos

Playlists for offline videos - pretty self explanatory, I'd like to be able to create playlists of my local video files

Recognizing Windows shortcuts - it would be nice if the DeoVR file browser could recognize Windows shortcuts (.lnk files) and play the video that the shortcut points to. This way we could organize videos using shortcuts in folders and essentially create "playlists" within the Windows file browser. Not sure how technically feasible this is, but may be easier to implement than actual playlists.

Chapter markers and hover thumbnails - these features are available for streaming videos but not downloaded ones which is a shame. Because this information is stored online, one solution would be to "match up" our local files with their online counterparts (via filename, or manually) so the chapter and thumbnail information can be loaded from the web.

For now, the best option is to have your own DLNA server, and organize videos and make your own lists. I learned to use Kodi and it works well for me.
