  • Can people collectively be more forgiving of male talent?

Feels like there’s always some criticism of the male performer no matter what video you’re looking at. Too handsy. Too hairy. Too fat. Too loud. Too many tattoos. For the love of god I just wish everyone would shut the hell up. These guys get no respect, ESPECIALLY in VR, where most of you expect them to just sit there motionless and do absolutely nothing while some of the most beautiful women imaginable go to town on them. Yes, it’s a job, we all know that, but I think people severely underestimate how difficult it probably is to restrain oneself in that situation. They should be allowed some liberties to enjoy themselves a little bit and partake in the scene. I know that’s what I would be doing, so it lines up just fine with the immersion.

And yes, VR is immersive, more so than any other medium, but we all know damn well our minds are not 100% tricked into thinking we’re actually there. Let’s not act like some guys hand touching a butt just completely shatters the illusion that you’re actually fucking Melody Marks.

And if a guys belly or tattoos is that much of a deal breaker for you. Fine. Move on. These are the guys who are okay with doing this kind of work without shame. Just take what we can get. The audacity of people being this upset about this kind of stuff strikes me as so incredibly entitled. We live in a time where it has never been easier to get our rocks off in the most satisfying way possible outside of real sex. It’s pretty sad to sit on your couch with your dick in your hand and get bent out of shape about a guy moaning in a porn video. In short, be more grateful. Merry Christmas and happy new year!

The only time it bothers me is when the guy looks like he's auditioning for Hookup Hotshot and he's just slapping the shit out of the girl to prove what a stud he is. Thankfully, that stuff is rare.

I do feel kinda bad for these dudes because it feels like the male talent pool is very shallow and the average age for actors in VR is pushing 50.

    Merry Christmas to you too

Jeef Getting your panties in a bunch over criticism of male performers isn't going to change the fact that people have strong opinions about performers. Maybe you should just ignore those comments and move on like everybody else does?

    Jeef Agreed

There are so many VR videos, if one is not up to par for people, go look at the 10 other scenes released that day and if people only watch scenes from 1 or 2 studios.. try more studios

To be honest i'm surprised people can even recognise the male performers unless they have something very unique like a tattoo

Is it kind of wrong to not list the guys in the cast list? They get no positive recognition or mention - how would people find more scenes with them if they enjoyed their performance? 🤷

Allow me to go down the list:
    1) Too handsy? Generally not a problem for me.
    2) Too hairy? Generally not a problem for me unless they look like wolverine.
    3) Too fat? Could definitely be a problem if the performer's gut obscures the penetration because of how fat he is.
    4) Too loud? This used to be a problem during the advent of VR porn. The guy would moan so loudly, I start to lose immersion. My brain is thinking it's no longer me that's in the video, it's the male performer. Nowadays, it's rare to find videos where the guy moans at all. So this isn't a problem anymore.
    5) Too many tattoos? Generally not a problem for me.

You don't have to be perfect to be a male pornstar. But there definitely should be some criteria that should be met so it doesn't jeopardize the enjoyability for the viewers. Not everybody should be a good fit for being a pornstar just because they can last long enough.

At the end of the day, being a pornstar is a profession. You're a big part of the production of a product. If the customers don't like the product, it's well within their right to complain. These VR videos aren't free. People pay monthly for this. It's ironic how you're telling the complainers to move on yet you're out here ranting.

People shouldn't hate but it's a job not unlike regular acting. For instance, if most people want hands out of a scene well, than that's the job. Simple as that.

Also unlike female talent it's often VERY hard to skip scenes of a male actors as most studios only use like one or two of them. Plenty of reason to comment imo

obilisk2450 Too hairy? Generally not a problem for me unless they look like wolverine.

I'd like see more male on the hairy side and on the bush side with the hotties too, two hairy models female and male? hair be getting all wet! YEAH!

Mostly don't care that much about the male talent as I spend most time looking at the girl anyway. There's just a few turn off for me and that's for one the monster cocks like NAVR use. I can't stand it. BJs look awkward as fuck, the girl is obvious uncomfortable at times and for some reason my experience is the bigger the junk the less harder pounding occurs which makes it boring. I know some people enjoy it and have their big dick fetish or they are that one guy in a hundred that rocks that junk and it's all fair. I just hate it and skip those scenes or studios.

Finally there's those guys that imo seem to just do VR for their own personal pleasure, which means the scenes suffers as he hardly care about getting a good shoot. It's simply annoying seeing scene after scene ruined because the guy doesn't do the simplest work to make the scene enjoyable for the viewer and so it seems he does it more for his own fun and VR is most likely just a way to semi-fund a kink of fucking pornstars and having a video of it.

OliverDK I 110% would be doing exactly what those guys are doing if I had the means, but I totally get the criticism as a viewer. 😂

Main issue for me with male performers is the lack of variety and the weak cumshots. If you can’t stay hard and shoot a decent cumshot, you should not be getting hired as male talent, that should be the minimum requirement of your job.

In terms of variety, it’s the same guys in every scene and two of them, Tommy Gunn and John Strong, are pushing 60. I know it’s POV so you don’t see their face but it’s still very obvious they are old dudes and it then becomes ridiculous to see them playing the part of some teen girl’s stepbrother or boyfriend or the stepson of some 30 year old. It’s stupid and it pulls me out of the scene.

I also dislike seeing huge dicks that the girls can’t do anything with or small dicks that barely touch the sides and just look even smaller in VR as they’re far away from the camera. Another thing that pulls me out of the scene is the whole “oh my god, it’s so big” when we can all see it isn’t.

All I want to see is a guy with a decent sized dick who can stay hard, fuck the girl good and shoot a decent load on cue. This used to be the bare minimum for a male talent in porn.

John Strong does a really good job. He's a total professional and has no ill-chosen tattoos, which I find to be an asset for VR films (it's hard to identify with the male talent if he has a prominent and distracting tattoo). Also, he's straight, and it's good to know that he's enjoying his work, unlike the other guy they use, who is a gay porn star and features simultaneously on their gay site (as my girlfriend pointed out to me after stealing a look at my SLR collection!).

Sure dude we totally believe that it wasn't you browsing that gay porn site

[deleted] that’s kind of my point though, why are we talking about a choice of only two guys? There’s tons of guys who work as male talent in porn, why are we getting the same guy over and over in every scene irrespective of the part and age they are supposed to be playing.

Why does it matter if someone does gay content? Totally irrelevant for their performances

I think what we have to keep in mind when criticising the "male actor" is that its not the male actors fault (for the most part)! Responsible are the persons in charge who booked the actors and wrote the scripts and have to make sure that everything works well.

My main issues often are the following and NOT the male actors fault!

            • camera alignment (often not centered etc.)
            • penis not how i personaly think it should be (no offense)
            • body and everything about it like hair and so on
            • quiet or short moaning (they are also just human afterall)

But then there are certain studios (like perVRt) which i think have only one person in charge for a video shooting and that person is the male actor who does it all and it feels like he just wants to bang those cute womans and does not care about the viewer experience.

That said - no offense but when it comes to the male actor and his penis i just dont understand how certain actors even get a job in this business. And im not just talking about size here.
