Very confused on Oculus and haptics.

Ive read alot of guides on the topic and I just dont get it. DeoVR and Quest2, haptics connect option enabled, status always red. Sideloaded HC2.0.5 and paired to keon. DeoVR still disconnected for HC. Launched SLR in oculus browser and logged in with a script account. No haptics options to be found. As of 12/11 how does a Quest user connect to a device in order to play interactive scripts? From most of the instruction ive found, it seems like DeoVR on the quest should be able to connect to the device, without all the different ways Ive tried above. Please help, have been premium for almost a year, added script option today. Intuitively Id think Id be prompted to connect to a device, when the option is enabled in DeoVR, yet nothing happens.

Make sure keon is on and in Bluetooth mode.

Open haptics connect app on phone.

Navigate to browser tab.

Click connect SLR to HC app.

navigate to player tab. (No player tab repeat previous step)

Turn on/put on quest 2.

Open deovr.

In bottom left it should say haptics connect and light should turn to green.

If it doesn’t turn green then take off headset, close the app by using x button in top right of player tab in app.

Reopen app and then it should connect displaying the latency indicator.

Then press device tab and scan for Keon to connect. (Make sure no other devices are connected to the Keon).
Make sure when watching videos on SLR that the blue interactive sex toy icon is turned on. Enjoy.

Ok, thanks for that, ill give it a shot. I had been playing scripts locally through Heresphere bluetooth and thought a commercial app would be much better/easier than organizing scripts locally. Dont quite understand the reliance on mobile though. Feels like a hack and not very convenient.

nepenthy we do have perfect cloud streaming for scripts.
Also moving to direct headset-sextoy connection instead of mobile phone proxy.

Apparently they dev team is working on getting rid of the app and instead Bluetooth connect straight to oculus

doublevr I have to admit, the mobile app / quest combo wasnt the worst implementation ive seen. I dont have to scan a token for every video, for example. I dont understand the technical aspects, but an additional battery device in the mix (phone) doesnt make alot of sense to me. All of my usage is in the later part of evening, where my phone may have 5-10% charge left. Also seemed to be a little lag from the phone to the device, as upward video motions resulted in downward keon stroke. My first haptics experience was with the OSR2 and local script players, select the right COM port and you're off. Or Heresphere, scan for bluetooth and done. I may have ignorantly thought it would be more convenient with a commercial device and site/scripts.

nepenthy - I would recommend keeping your phone charged while using haptics connect app on your phone (or have it charged before hand)

Additionally, you can always increase or decrease your script delay in haptics connect app or try pausing and then resuming the video to ensure smooth accurately timed script playback performance

The OSR2 is definitely an excellent device with best in class playback performance, though it does lack the very convenient wireless capability of the Keon (for now)

I have to admit the haptics feedback phone combo isnt as bad as I was expecting. I guess im resisting the fact that you now need to have your phone on you for almost everything. OSR2 and SR6 works great over wifi, have been using them wifi and xtp/mfp player for over 2 years. Wifi firmware for SSR1 was just released last night. I do like the Keon/PowerBlow implementation in haptics connect. So far I havent seen this option from any other Keon connection method. I do have to go into phone settings and kill the haptics app after Im done using it, otherwise the service will stay running and drains phone battery. Is there an option in the app to exit, or is killing it the preferred method?

nepenthy - to exit the haptics connect app when not in use, you will want to simply click the 'player tab' and press the X button in the top right hand corner (This method is to help prevent accidental closure while in use).
