Just wanted to share some insights:

  • AI scripts are somewhat 65% similar to craft ones for the same scene; Max/min extremes are 78% match;
  • AI scripts have bigger amplitude for smaller action in the video that it well welcomed by many users
  • figuring out "ghost" movements in AI scripts when no action on video, but script is moving as there was an action before and after. Mostly for position or camera change.
  • figuring out better sync of fast parts in a video, as currently AI might miss the rhythm. Noticed once focused and concentrated on the video.
  • AI scripts are better than beginners scripts
  • User satisfaction is about as good for craft and AI scripts starting from the late October ScriptAI release.
doublevr changed the title to AI Scripts v Craft comparison and user feedback insights .

I do agree Ai scripts are enjoyable and I really like that they have been added but I think it's a bit weird to only share the positives. As it still has trouble or completely skips certain movements (like grinding, tongue movements, etc.) and underestimates the movement if the perspective causes a small displacement on screen (even though it's not a small movement). It also often adds movement where there is none, cannot deal with non pov/ mosaic yet, during sex the range doesn't stop at the bottom which can limit the true range of the device when action is heavy and overal there are still some scripts with general issues. That is not to say that AI scripts haven't improved immensely and are often very enjoyable. I do enjoy them personally and especially like that a lot of scenes that would never get a script in the past are now scripted.

In some scenes the above is a pretty minor problem but there are others where these limitations are much more pronounced. Take a VR Edging scene for instance is.

...i've had some very enjoyable times with the AI, and i'm genuinely impressed with it. Is it better than a beginners script? Depends on the beginner, i've had scripts from people that'll make your toes curl on their first attempt. What it does do is it copies the feel of a good script very well. What it can't do is figure out what is happening on screen all the time. It's a bit like having an idiot whose great at scripting doing the work. They kinda do weird stuff at weird places, specifically in response to movements, but the movements aren't always what they think they are. But once the fucking or the sucking starts, they nail it,

Personally, i like the way i can wander between many different scenes, and different studios. i never watch anything without a script, so AI has democratized a fair bit of the catalogue for me, especially fun for catching new releases, i don't have to wait months for a script. i've found some rather fun new studios that way.

However, if i had to make a choice, i'd still rather have one decent handcrafted script a night, than all the AI you can throw at me.

Here's my analogy: AI is like a microwave meal, it has calories, if tastes like food, you could survive on it, there's an endless plethora of it available, any dish can have a ready meal version whipped up, and it's easy to serve. But, all these different meals basically taste the same, cos they all use the same underlying base materials to make them work. Most importantly, NONE of them will ever taste as good as the proper meal, hand prepared for you by a master chef. The real deal will always taste far better than the ready meal.

The thing that actually annoys me about the AI scripting revolution, is that you are selling AI scripts for scenes that have handcrafted ones! Handcrafted scripts are better than AI, and always will be, what you must be careful not to do is blot out all the handcrafted ones with AI ones. You will a) dilute the goodness, and peeps will think scripts are kinda crap as a result, not having experienced the real deal, and b) prevent people actively scripting for scenes.

Which then leads to the pricing issue. If you run an AI script on the same scene as a HC one, then you either charge the same price, to not discourage the HC chap by undercutting his work, or you charge less for the AI script, because it's not as good, but now you are undercutting your actual talent.

So imo having AI scripts for the same scenes as ones that have HC available is a loose / loose. You're not offering variety, because the only choice is between a good script and a mediocre one.

On the other hand, i love the idea of people modifying the AI scripts, and those then being re-upped. Hybridizing is probably the way to go, let the AI do the heavy lifting, then a grown up comes in and cleans up the mess.

Hopefully there is a more democratic way to preserve HC scripts, and promote HC scripters, whilst still letting the AI do its thing, and then we can all be happy, but on the whole i'm very impressed with what you've done with AI so far, i'm really curious how much fine control you can teach it, and how much more it can learn to recognize, and interpret, best of luck to you....

This, exactly. I understand that SLR is a business and needs to make a profit, but I subbed to them originally because they were the only studio making a gourmet meal handcrafted by a master chef. Now that several years have gone by, it seems that they are focused on figuring out how to make a cheaper, microwavable version of that product - from Originals to scripts.

Agreed! I don't understand this at all. They initially stated that the AI scripts were just for v ids that didn't have a script yet so we at least had something. All well and good, but I see a LARGE percentage of AI scripts for vids that already have a handcrafted script, while older unscripted videos still remain that way.
