List of supported Android Devices for SLR Interactive

Can someone make a list of what phones are supported for SLR Interactive? I keep having to take phones back for refunds because i don't know what phone to get that can run the app. I have a s8 for VR but with using gear VR it won't work unless i have ANOTHER device.

agentgerbilForum For SLR Interactive, the minimum requirement is an Android phone running Android 6.0 or up.
Support for Apple phones should be available in the near future.

i'm an iphone user so i bought a used nexus 5 that has 6.0.1 and it doesn't install off the playstore, tried the apk as a workaround and it refuses. might get a cheap pixel in the mean time. Really keen on that iphone update.

Misgolas I'll send you a link for a test version we're preparing for Android. Worth a shot, it should support more phones.

managed to load the APK but once i enter login info, the button glows for a moment and the app does nothing. Double and triple checked the login/password, you said you're 'preparing' it, does this mean its not live yet?

Misgolas No, just a test version for now. I'll let you know when we fix the login issue and send you another version, but this will take some time.

@Misgolas - what vr headset do you have? only Iphone VR?
There are other solutions if you have just wiindows 10 pc, blutoothe 4.0 BLE, and wired vr headset (no phone needed)

RealcumberScripts Oculus Go with SLR app side loaded and bought a cheap nexus 5 for the sole purpose of the companion app. Haven't been able to get any timecode sync to work with Oculus Go because of my iphone situation. Previously i bought a script or two from syncarmy back in the day and used to put one eye into the headset and one eye onto the PC and pressed play on scriptplayer at the exact same time. No fast forwarding though so it was a lesson in self control.

Tried reaching out to the dev of whriligig and got a beta code for the oculus go but it doesn't have timecode or DNLA features. Found some old thread on realtouchscripts that claimed you could use a timecode server feature on samsungVR but it seems it was removed as a "redundancy" in later patch notes and is no longer viable.

basically faced with defeat, if i can get a device that uses this companion app for south of $200 i will but if i go higher than that i might as well get a new VR unit but from what i've read the ogo is one of the best for porn already. Pretty stuck.

Misgolas - Good read, yeah for Oculus go, your best bet is using slr interactive on android device, but no idea why youre having bad luck. It works on my 7.1 android phone (zte axxon M) and its pretty obscure phone (~$200 on ebay)
I would try the emulator route in discord #faqs if you havent already or 1 more phone, otherwise switch to wired VR - its better imo in many ways

Script god? lol - superfan or connoisuer is what I would rather think 😛
Odyssey+ is best price for quality and 2nd best on the market I would say atm
Valve is best but too expensive and short supply
any other 1st gen headsets are fine too tbh - if u can get them cheap

But wired headsets for sure I can get you working if u get one

i'd actually considered an emulator before but felt out of my depth, things like bluestacks just seemed like it was for games, if i get this LineageOS 14 in a virtual running is there slr apk's available some place? or do i have to get into the playstore on it? sounds pretty solid if i can get it working, have many people had success with this?

Should be similar to bluestacks but unfortunately bluestacks cannot use Bluetooth whereas the emulator can.
You should be able to download SLR interactive off the app store like normal on your emulator this way, otherwise u can ask in discord for an apk

Q: How to Use SLR Interactive without separate Android device (PC only)
-Install an Android emulator emulator on your PC to use your PCs bluetooth
- You can download the android OS @ https://www.android-x86.org/ and the VirtualMachine software from https://www.virtualbox.org/
Specifically:
= For Android x86 VM = install only the Android 7 iso
= Use the LineageOS 14 image vcm-14.1-r3 (which is based on Android 7)
= Make sure to enable native bridge on Settings->Apps Compatibility otherwise SLR Interactive will crash.
