Reducing the number of AI script downloads to 3 per month is a disappointing move, considering that I just bought a Premium+Scripts lifetime subscription under the previous terms with 10 AI script downloads per months. Also AI scripts are still a bit of a gamble, so please raise that limit back up again.
Upcoming price and download limit change

I don't like the latest Move, to reduce the AI Scripts from 10 to 3.
Bring back the 10 AI Scripts and reduce the by Hand scripted Funscripts maybe to 1, because it is almost impossible, to find 3 new Human Scripts a Month, except the VREdging Scripts. AI scripting is killing the Human scripting System.
Also it would be fair, if the AI Scripts cost at least a max. of 3$. It is a CPU who generated the Scripts and this is a Mass Product.
I would love to see the following Price and DL System regarding Scripts:
- 1 or 2 Human Scripts per Month.
- 8 to 10 AI Scripts per Month
- lowering the AI Script Price to 3$ for 1 Script, 12,50$ if bought 5 Scripts at once and 20$ if somebody buys 10 AI Scripts at once

Long-time subscriber here. When is this coming into effect? I don't download near the limit, but I've been thinking of upgrading from monthly to yearly if you offer the Black Friday sale again on New Years. Any chance this will be happening? Also, what happens to my remaining days of the monthly sub I'm currently on? Would the days be transferred to the yearly sub.?
Will these new subscription plans be cheaper? Can you give us more details on what you are offering?

I finally remembered the passage from this literary classic that reminded me of @doublevr
"His primary passion, his major interest, was pornography. He had a pretty darned impressive collection, which wasn't that easy on the income of a college student. He did have a part-time job, cashier at a fast food restaurant. And, most of that money was indeed spent on internet subscriptions.
"He felt, though, that he was in fact quite frugal in pursuing his avocation. He would never let a subscription last longer than 30 days, kicking in an automatic renewal. Avoiding such additional cost required downloading as much as possible during those thirty days, but he rarely found that to be a challenge. He just felt that his library was growing and growing and growing. He could not though take advantage of the sites that offered one-month limited memberships via telephone enrollment, as he could not risk the record of such calls within the dorm.
"He particularly enjoyed teen sites, filled with girls that were his own age. The girls on the sites were all said to be around 18-19 years old, although frankly some of them looked to be pushing 40. He did always dream though of finding on a site an Abberville coed. One can hope, one can dream. It's those who don't dream who fail to achieve.
OK, well lifetimers have been affected the last dozen times it got reduced, so can we go back to the terms when we bought our lifetime subs? I think it was like 75 and reset every 3 days.
As I recall, the first time this limit was reduced, I made a plea to let lifers keep their deal and was told it was impossible to keep track of and differentiate between lifers and monthly/yearly subs. Now, we're being told you can differentiate and will based on when we signed up and.. tbh I'd put money on reducing my limit again in the future. I also believe the line the first time a limit was added, the response was along the lines of, 'We have no plans to further reduce downloads.' It was further reduced...
Let's actually be honest here: Lifetimers are not data hoarders, they are archivists. They are not signing up for a month, fleecing the entire database then running off with the whole safe for the price of a one month. They gave you all the money you asked for. Promises were already broken. I don't expect this promise to last either.

It would be impossible to download all SLR films in a month, even if someone wanted to do so. My question for you is 'how do you have the hard drive space to download even half the current monthly limit?' Because of recent changes in the Internet and the obvious move towards censorship (see how they took down Twitter today) I invested in some 20 TB drives, a small portion of which is devoted to SLR. Even if I were to devote a full 20 TB drive to these videos, I would run out of space very quickly. That said, I am significantly pissed with SLR for their anti-American, anti-Christian decision to premiere a goth film on Christmas (hear that @doublevr), their vacillation over what to release when, and their choice to cast the same models over the past few months (like Angel Windell and Daisy Lavoy -- two SLR originals w the same model in three weeks!). Typically when I subscribe to a site I count on at least five superb films I really want to see, and this month SLR has only produced one ground-breaking classic, https://www.sexlikereal.com/scenes/raw-taboo-group-project-39281.
[deleted] Sorry but how is a goth video anti-American or anti-Christian?

[deleted] Well one doesn't need to worry about how many hard drives I have bc it's not the point (I have several 8TBs ). And not everything needs saved in a fake 8K resolution anyway, nor do I need the first 15 minutes of inane talking and foreplay. You save tremendous space when you're saving just the good parts.
And yes, Demi Hawks and those freckles are hot as hell.
I only watch porn between married couples doing missionary position while singing the Pledge of Allegiance, the way Jesus intended
The use of CAPTCHA is already killing the site; please fix that first
NORMALLY this type of thing would not affect me as i am NOT a big downloader.
BUT?? you have a big studio leaving at the end of the month...i just found out, and i have some FAV's ??
unfortunately, 12-15 per video is not going to happen. mighta been interested in about 10 clips at 5-6bucks max
not sure how many i wanna save/download. there are like 54 pages of 12....so lots of clips to go thru, but SEE that i can only download 30 before they leave.
i am STILL on the 239-dollar yearly plan....but seemed to get nurfed down already.
maybe those download limits should come into play when we pay the LESSER join fee...and not on the existing fee
Little late to party and have skimmed over this. My two cents. Data shouldn't be a factor in this discussion if comparing data hoarders(Poor word choice) to streamers. If I wanted to I could stream 24/7 that would be 0.5TB per day with no limit other than the play speed of the player(One could also get this higher by skipping around in every video for 24 hours) vs downloading at 30 per week that's 0.6TB per week. The stream users can abuse your data if they wanted to.(Assuming a 20GB video typical of 8k 30 min long h265)
As for downloading I have seen videos I truly loved but never downloaded disappear from the OG producers site or the OG producer went out of business(Who knows what's going to happen to abbywinters content in the next couple of years). I prefer downloading cause personally I like freedom of choice. I can pick which player I want and set my own tags/or edit tags for videos.(Heresphere truly does make 4k content/close ups watchable)
In regards to the download limits. You should adopt something like Badoink at 20 per day and develop algos that scan for people downloading every video in your DB. 30/week just sucks as as most studios have content that varies greatly between excellent to unwatchable. It sucks when a few of your DL videos fall into this latter category. You could also stick captacha on all downloads(Naughty America VR). This will defiantly make fair use of your videos. There are other things like rate limiting per day like POVR. The only people more protective of abusers in sinsVR at 49/month and streaming limited to 1440p(YIKES) unless you give them more money. Also you got to remember 99% of users won't have the skill set or money to store more than 5TB of videos at a time that's a mere fraction of your data base. You shouldn't be punishing the majority for the few users that have the capability and money to store your entire DB
But honestly the price should be cheaper for downloaders only at your current limit. Because A) you don't have to support developing a player for them. B) Streamers are only limited in data by there willingness to sit in front of the computer.
One final note VR imo is facing a precipice there are too many choices for and most content is becoming identical(European or American style) its just now a matter of which model you want to spend your time watching. I hope SLR figures something out before raising prices as I would pay more for something innovative but not more for content that's the same to WankzVR Studios, Badoink Studios, Bangers VR, Naughty America etc.

I would like to add my view on the planned changes.
Right now the 30 Downloads within 6 Days aka 5 Downloads per day is fair.
But at the same time for me personaly anything much lower than that would be a no go if the price is not reasonably adjusted.
And you also have to keep your competitors in mind - ALL the direct obvious ones offer UNLIMITED downloads, nearly the same content and to a lower base price and lower discounted price (for the most time)!
If i would change anything with your subs it would be the following:
- remove the one time option - nobody is paying more only because he/she does not need to cancel anything
- keep the current sub like it is with regular offered discounts
- add a new reduced subscription-option with a monthly price of 11,95 including unlimited streaming but only 10 downloads per 6 days instead of the 30.
poptrek I'd like to see 5K-8K upscaled versions of popular older videos that are currently at blurry HD or so.
So why did my download limit refresh date spontaneously change from the1st of the month to the 7th? The way you guys keep changing like this without warning or explanation is why people complain IMO. We all joined at a point in time with the implicit assumption that the limits imposed that day would hold for the remainder of the term of the membership. Changing that arbitrarily sucks. Changing it between memberships, NP.
petergriff Some call it Immaculate Conception, others call it a really hot God/Mary/Joseph cuckolding scene. And before you complain about me disrespecting Christianity, my religion's highest sacrament is the Holy Cuckolding that delivered our savior to forgive us of our kinks and this country guarantees freedom of religion, so respect mine and I'll respect yours.
sylvan Their naming schemes suck. Even worse than VRHush. But thanks for the heads up. Won't subscribe again.
serendipitis Don't think he was being serious
Hairsational no I was serious; there are indeed a lot of videos that are too blurry at Naughty America recently, but overall I don't regret my subscription (9 euros per month!); note that I recently subscribed for life to virtual taboo: I have no regrets, many superb videos ; seriously if there was the possibility of a lifetime subscription to naughty america I would do it (I'm missing from my collection: lifetime subscription to naughty america and czech because no options possible) (i have: wankz, slr, virtualtaboo, vrporn)
doublevr how can you say "we want to make our users happy" and call them "data hoarders" in the same sentence?? you do realize there are other headsets other than quest right? who wants to stream with a high end pc and high end pcvr headset?? no one in their right mind. It's always gonna look better played directly from a file. How the hell do you set up a vr porn site and then turn around act like the customers are the enemy for using it as its set up by YOUR COMPANY. If you want to blame anyone for the bandwith or network issues , maybe dont let 4000 different studios run on the same platform lol It's not our fault you let any shitty studio with a vr camera host here. I'm seriously so glad i decided to cancel my sub after being here the last 4 years. You guys are like the disney of vr porn the way you act towards the source of your income. "evolve or else" ? Who threatens their customers for using a service they pay for ???? Compared to other sites you guys are a very inconsistent hot mess and you don't even realize it...Calling your source of income "stupid" when you don't even understand that a vr video looks better played off your computer than streamed over a server. that's priceless.... well i guess not priceless for the people smart enough to know the difference between direct play and streamed. Subs say they'll quit and you say "deal" lmao...ive never in my life seen a company with such childish and unprofessional customer relations. You do you realize ALL your videos are available for FREE with NO DOWNLOAD LIMITS on the internet.??? most on the same day you release them. We pay for your service not because we have to, but out of respect and support so you can grow . the way you act towards us is completely ridiculous. what a fucking business model .....bragging about having the most videos but getting upset and disrespectful if paying customers download too many of them lmao it's gonna be hilarious when you push away more loyal customers with your nonsense.
Doublevr is definitely not into demagoguery lol; Well, everyone has their own way of expressing themselves and it’s not necessarily pleasant; but what seems important to me is is slr worth it: I say yes, even though I never do streaming and only downloads; but it is true that I am also a lifetime subscriber to wankz, virtualtaboo, vrporn and that I subscribe for a month from time to time to czech and naughty américa: and I download and download but overall not that much because I limit to a few hard drives (to limit greed lol!)
sylvan He's probably not the customer-facing type. But he's definitely sold me on never buying a lifetime membership for now with all the changes that are never for the better. The human-generated scripts were the differentiator for me, but now that scripts are increasingly restricted to streaming, and increasingly AI-generated, that selling point is diminishing.

serendipitis The human-generated scripts were the differentiator for me, but now that scripts are increasingly restricted to streaming, and increasingly AI-generated, that selling point is diminishing.
Exactly this. The quality of SLRO used to be top notch, now it is greatly diminished and majority PT nonsense (another place where they just said, "We're doing it, get over it"). Ditto scripts - they say "no changes because of AI" but then they release scripts for stuff that already has human scripts, while the frequency and quality of human-created scripts has greatly decreased as well. Not much reason to sub any more. The rude behavior is just icing on the cake.
mueslee So I ask again: What do LT get in return for paying way more on their LT subscription?
Permanent access to the site.
Only take 4 1/3 years for the Lifetime sub to cost less per year than the annual sub. Over 10 years that goes down to less than half the price per year. And so on.

justsomedude101 If the current trend of better studios leaving SLR (and pulling their content) continues then there may be nothing left but SLR Originals and sandbox-tier content

Well, RealityLovers and SwallowBay are the only ones I can think of that you might be referring to, unless you're just being hyperbolic.
Meanwhile we've picked up VRSpy, VRMassaged, PornCornVR, VRPlayful, and quite a few others within the past 6 months alone, many of which have been enormously popular, so

VR Bangers, VR Conk, Dezyred, VRB Gay, VRB Trans, EvilEyeVR. I'm sure I'm missing some more.
justsomedude101 Meanwhile we've picked up VRSpy, VRMassaged, PornCornVR, VRPlayful, and quite a few others within the past 6 months alone, many of which have been enormously popular, so
VRSpy: Another label for Alex Nash who already produces for SLR
VRMassaged: Another label for the same producer behind VRedging and VRsolos
PornCornVR: Another label for RealJamVR. Same company, same producers.
VRPlayful is the only new producer on that list as far as I'm aware and they have released just 4 scenes over a period of 6-7 months. As for new studios not on your list, they are all either new labels for existing producers on SLR (e.g. All Anal VR) or not "enormously popular".
Hairsational VR Bangers, VR Conk, Dezyred, VRB Gay, VRB Trans
Also all labels from the same producer...and they left well over a year ago. Not sure why you didn't mention that when you seem to dislike new studios from existing producers. Oh well.
You sound unhappy with the selection we have and the numerous new studios we've picked up, and tbh that's not really something i have the time or desire to try to change your mind on. We have plenty of new & existing users who appreciate them, which is pretty obvious from the response they've gotten. Sorry you're not a fan of them.

justsomedude101 and they left well over a year ago
The fact that it was over a year ago is not relevant. They were a top creator on this platform they they left.

I like most of those new studios you listed. Nowhere did I even imply anything to the contrary.
The point you are missing is that it's the same production crews just under a different name. They produce the same volume of content across the studios. Subscribers are not getting extra content just because there is a new studio listed.
justsomedude101
I think your estimate is great. I have a complete different calculation is my head with heresphere and XBVR (not going back to DeoVR ever) but it evens up after 4-5 years.
So I'm not complaining about the deal regarding LT vs monthly.
I'm specifically complain about getting a kick in the balls for risking more money early. "Permanent access to the site" is true for new and old LT subscribers.
You often name new features "fair usage" and so on. Where is the fair deal here to be had?
justsomedude101 not worth wasting time.
Baby steps for me. At least I'm not writing paragraphs any more
justsomedude101 Drinking a little less kool-aid will help
Wild idea for a fair download limit system, which rewards loyalty and deters abuse - the longer you sub, the more you can download per month. So if you're brand new, you get say 10 downloads, but in the second month it goes up to 20, then 30, and so on, until the maximum is reached after maybe 6 months. If you leave then return, your download limit resets.
vrpicasso which rewards loyalty and deters abuse - the longer you sub, the more you can download per month
First of all, I think you shouldn't support the notion of paying subscribers abusing the site when using it in perfect compliance with the agreed conditions. Considering that the SLR download limits are already significantly lower than what competitors are allowing, it is not abuse to download within those limits.
Secondly, what was called 'misuse' is enabled by the fact that there are two ways of subscribing for just one month: A more expensive way that ends after 30 days or a cheaper one that can be cancelled by the subscriber before it renews for a second month. If you are offering the same thing for two different prices, don't blame the users for being smart. Blame yourself for even offering this option.
Thirdly, a monthly loyalty reward system doesn't make sense in an annual subscription since you have already signed up for an entire year. It would only make sense for the monthly recurring subscription. But why would you want to drive away the monthly subscriber segment (that has already decided against going annual at the price of a higher monthly rate) by further devaluating their subscriptions?
Moreover, loyal customers are not necessarily better customers. Some lifetime subscribers may think they own the place after having made their (admittedly substantial) one-time payment, while in the long run the money sustaining the business is coming from the not-so-smart people like myself repeatedly renewing their annual subscriptions.
I think the real reason behind SLR going against downloads is that it is a way to significantly reduce costs on their end. It was mentioned earlier that people may actually watch on average only like 20 % of a porn scene. For Netflix and the like, it makes no difference if you stream or download for offline use since their content is usually being watched from start to finish. But with porn scenes, 80 % of the downloaded data may go to the bin unwatched. And probably third party content providers will get the full payout for a downloaded scene while streaming payout is based on actual watch time. But as long as I am not a shareholder or on SLR's payroll, this is none of my concern and I will not accept being called names or demonized for my preference of downloading some scenes at the highest available quality before watching them.
The way forward clearly needs to be making subscribers stream voluntarily instead of dictating how to watch:
- Streaming-only features with benefits like AI PT will for sure shift the ratio towards streaming
- Rethink the logic behind bit rate/quality reduction for streaming files. I get it that 30 Mbps is the upper limit but why on earth is it necessary to reduce 50 Mbps scenes to 20 Mbps? Just reduce them to 30 Mbps like all the other scenes and I might stream some of them instead of downloading. Can't be that hard to change the workflow.
- Since the plan seems to be charging extra for additional downloads, think again what could be a reasonable price. 20 bucks for 50 downloads as indicated earlier? Come on! Your own market price for 50 downloads is like $5. If it's any higher than that, it would be cheaper to get a second SLR subscription to get more downloads, which would be as ridiculous as it sounds. But more likely, frequent downloaders would just get their second subscription from one of the competitors that offers even more downloads + exclusive content. So if you want to generate any revenue for SLR from additive download packages, the price needs to be clearly below $5 for 50.
- Edited
doublevr We are considering introducing lower price tiers for new subscribers.
It will come with
-50% downloads limit for monthly plan.
-30% for monthly non-recurring
-25% for annual
-15% for LT.
We are still checking on the actual limit numbers to make sure we find a golden ratio and keep everyone happyAll the active subs will keep their current limits intact.
There will be upgrade option for each plan. There will be an option to buy extra downloads.
Main problem comes from users misusing recurring monthly sub instead of going non-recurring monthly.
Perfectly we want to separate streaming and data hoarding users
