I finally tried passthrough with a Quest 3, and it's overrated

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I do not feel more immersed, in fact I feel less. Seeing all the people praising it, and trashing people that don't like it in the comments under PT videos, I decided to get a Quest 3 to try it. I wanted a Quest 3 anyway, but it pushed me to get it now with PT taking off. It's definitely better looking than trying on Q2, but the picture still isn't completely clear so the girl looks a little odd, and seeing whatever you are using (FL in my case) just makes it look weird and non immersive. Also the alignment of the genitals, or at least attempt to line it up, is just annoying as well.

Hopefully someone here can tell me what I'm missing or doing wrong, because I'd love to enjoy it! Otherwise I'll just go back to the regular VR videos.

coolguy95 the laying cg is my favorite in pt, with pt hack videos and alpha videos I'll look up at their faces where it blocks out the male model out of my view so it basically just looks like she sitting on me cg tits in my face in my room, try that with your fleshlight.

But it's there as an option toggle on toggle off 🤷‍♂️

Do you know about the dome rotation with roll settings? it's in the player settings turn it on and you can hold both triggers on the controller to move the image around, helps line it up 👍

It helps if you cover your stroker with a black cloth of some type. At least that works for me. Although I don't use one very often.

coolguy95 I don't think you are doing anything wrong. Issue is just that's it's either not for you in it's current form or AR porn is not for you at all. Others feel differently, myself included but I do think AR porn needs to develop for it to be more convincing.

Lining up the floating penis is a huge problem, I agree.

In regards to the model not being clear, I sort of resonate with that.
Perhaps it will improve later on, but it kinda feels like there's an outline around the model and it's quite noticeable.
Especially when I look up at their face and their hair is moving around during the cowgirl position, it's much more distracting. There's the problem with the lighting of the model not matching the lighting in my room as well, but again, I'm sure that will be improved in the future with additional features for playback.

One of the reasons I never really liked the floating dick videos even tho people seemed to think that was the way moving forward. When the dude was visible as well, it would mask off most of me so I was free to do whatever with my hands and it would mostly never show up. Now, with all these awkward changing angles and only a dick floating around it becomes very annoying to try and perfectly line up that dick while still ignoring what my hands were clearly doing at the same time. I would either want the male body back again or a way to toggle the male body off and on, like on those Japanese VR porn games.

OliverDK How do you deal with your dick and your hands during the scene? To me the immersion is more broken when I can seen my arm and hand yanking my dick and neither of those align with what is happening. Do you not beat off while watching these scenes? Do you use something like a handy? I think even if you use a device like that, it would still show up awkwardly during the scene behind the dick? Also, I'm sure people using those still have to use at least one hand to hold it? That is why, even though not ideal, when you have a dude there, it can pretty much hide whatever it is you are either doing to yourself or using on yourself. Personally the dude never bothers me in PT, simply because I dont really ever focus on him, my focus is always on the chick, my surroundings and making sure anything I am doing doesnt overlap or peak through and make it look weirder.

metichemsi I align it such that the floating dick is where my dick is, sometimes my dick is a bit behind the floating dick because of the camera position and because for one reason or another most studios always use male actors that are shorter than me. I zoom a bit out then.

In regards to my own hands then I'm not more bother by them than I am with my own hands when with my girl. I don't really focus on watching myself wanking and my fleshlight is hidden within the actress. I haven't tried it with scripts and my Handy yet so I can't tell you because currently I'm working on making that handsfree. In other instances I use a Tantaly Big ass and that works well because it gives the feeling I'm touching the actress.

In any case for me the point of AR porn is that the premise is different than VR porn. I view it as it's 'me and the actress' together in my room. I can see myself, her and my surroundings, a dick I align with mine and whatever else I bring into the room.

When the male actor's body is there it becomes 'me hidden or partly hidden in another man's body and his arms and hands doing their thing, a feeling of having four legs and an actress of course' all together in my surroundings. It's a mess to me and the premise of AR porn evaporates and as such for a better experience in that regard I'll just watch regular VR as I can't see myself at all.

But it's not that I have a issue with that for you the situation is different. What works for you, works for you. My point is simply that for me the premise of what AR porn represents disappears the moment the other guy is visible. I simply won't bother with AR porn then as any VR scene will give me a far superior experience than whatever that is.

Therein lies the major obstacle for PT. It's VR with extra steps and, for a lot of people (the general public as of now) VR is already too many extra steps.
