  • Why is it so hard to find Info on how to create a Pass through video yourself?

sletje I tried capcup, adding a green screen behind the image was kinda tricky for me so I just use the cut background and left it black. But on my phone it renders to slow so I gave up. 🤷‍♂️

I'm pretty sure the pt option will get better and you won't even need to make the video, you'll just alpha it in real time.

That is why I was so excited when I heard that SLR are developing an AI model to remove backgrounds in regular videos. That would make every video viable as a PT video. Hope it works and they release it eventually.

Let me rephrase this. Can you take a Normal Green screen video and convert it to VR or Make it pass-through? I tried to watch a Green screen video but, couldn't get the green screen to disappear!

Taliesin1 yeah should be able too, in cap cut you would probably just have to push cut background and that's it, should work easily with the green screen bg

Vrsumo2017 yeah i have a very beefy pc, i render most videos in minutes. its amazing, only bad thing is i am limited in the amount of funscripts i can download......

Taliesin1 green screen is what makes something passthrough. because you basicly filter out the colour of the green screen, which is green. so yeah any greenscreen video can be played in vr as passthrough if its playable in vr. you might need to edit the video to become side by side etc.

Shoot your film on Green Screen and then key out the background in post-production. The post production process is called "keying".

redsazxcr Yes, I thought about that. Using After Effects to key out Green Screen. Just really new and like i said usually there are TONZ of videos on something. Strange not many on Pass Through yet.
          Anyway TY

Taliesin1 you dont have to remove the greenscreen in post production, leave the greenscreen on your footage, render it as usual, when you watch it using DEOVR simply enable PT and tweak the settings until the greenscreen is gone. You will have to tweak them based on your exposure and lighting but they are generally something along the lines of
          Hue:
          37
          Saturation:
          100
          Brightness:
          54
          Color range:
          179
          Falloff:
          998

These values are for a greenscreen PT video SLR published a while ago, so your lighting and coloring may not be exactly the same so tweaking the values slightly until your video works great should get you what you need. Let me know if this helps. Also, greenscreen PT is fully supported when using DLNA but the alpha PT is not. So you should be able to wirelessly stream your greenscreen PT videos just fine. Give that a try!
