  • Streaming VRporn is a nightmare tody !

BENONL9NE thx for a feedback. Deovr team is working hard to boost playback quality.

Will take some few more months though to bring it to release stage.

BENONL9NE I'm used to deo; I recently tried herosphere (on steam) because some people talk about it to say that it improves visual quality, but despite trying it, I didn't see any difference with deo; I'm not asserting anything of course, but personally I don't see any difference; before a long time ago I used simple vr video (on steam): and there I clearly saw the difference with deo (poor visual quality of simple vr video: but it has not been updated for a long time); so I don't know what to think.

I am nearsighted (1/10) and presbyopic (when I read I have to wear magnifying glasses) but with my HP Reverb headset I don't wear glasses and I wear ipd: 68mm

sylvan That might explain why you didn't notice any visual difference. You wouldn't be seeing the same thing as someone who has better vision since their eyes are able to resolve smaller (or more distant) details that matter a lot for the perception of a clear, sharp image.

BENONL9NE This is why I dont use a browser to watch. Then I bought Herespere VR. I was amazed how good SLR scenes are can looking. Perfect ! This is my solution ! No ! In Herespere ur streams are count as download.

Too bad SLR can't make a deal with Heresphere. It's a great player.

That said, I'm satisfied with the quality on my HP Reverb2 and on my Pico 4 using Deo. Not as good as HS, but good enough. So, maybe it's the Quest headset?

My experience with deo streaming on slr is pretty great, I use quest 2 and Pico 4, picture wise it's looks decent to me, and i don't even use the highest file, i use the 3360k file, also I like how deo with slr I can skipp forward easily with hardly no loading time, I used Playa before for streaming but it would load to long when skipping forward maybe they fixed it now but also hardly no other sites worked on there for streaming.

Hs is good, I used it for Lil bit with my local files, but idk 🤷‍♂️...really did nothing for me, deo just more convenient for me.

And FYI in hs what ever stream or if you visit a page with thumbnails pics for sum reason all them titles will be in your recent watch history, I found that one day and was like wtf I didn't watch all these vids, yeah so you gotta clear it out if you don't like that kinda thing.

Might of been a glitch at that time maybe they fixed it now.

But deo player is my go to player, I just wish they roll out that smb support cause it's hard for me to stream from my computer to deo. Smb works way easier. Imo

BENONL9NE The support has say I hv to leave everything to default and need to change the codec.

I asked if you were streaming the H264 or H265 files, and if you had changed the image settings. 🙂 By which I mean Saturation, brightness, etc. Because you mentioned the skin colors don't look natural.
But I never received an answer back. I actually even have your ticket open still.

To get an idea of what you are experiencing and inform the devs, I have to know some details.

BENONL9NE DEO is stable and no stuttering and hv all features I need. But even 8k scenes are a bit blurry and not very sharp.

Wondering if you have been watching the same files in HS that you have streamed in DeoVR. If you stream in DeoVR, you'll get the file on the left, while if you download and watch in HS you may have chosen the file on the right. Both 7K, but the streaming file is always max. 30 Mbps while the original file on the right is 120 Mbps in this example and for sure looks better.

SchnuppiLilac That's actually a good question, as it would also explain the stuttering.

SchnuppiLilac U can stream with HS too. By clicking the download button. U are not downloading u stream the file then. This is how HS streaming works on not supportet sides with a api.

BENONL9NE But which download button do you click when you stream from SLR in HS? I think SLR has 10 of them.

While the video is playing, open the settings panel to the right of the UI.
Here you will be able to set it to H265, when it's set to H265, make sure you have selected the highest possible resolution option.

Rakly3 Here you will be able to set it to H265

I think this setting was removed from the app end of July or so as part of phasing out H264.

                SchnuppiLilac
Oh right, I just checked, the selection box is still there, but can only select H265 🙂

Meanwhile, @BENONL9NE Can you also check the color space? For Quest 2 in DeoVR I prefer the Rec.709
'Unmanaged' often is too much blue and green in my opinion.
