Hi guys,
I have a powerful PC soon to be on it's way to me. I've configured it specifically for VR, including a Geforce RTX 2070. I'll be attaching my Oculus Quest with the link cable.
This means I'll now be able to download the 5K/6K videos, the max quality h265 files.
I've just noticed though that there's also an original download file, which has an even higher bitrate than the max one.
An example:
The latest LunyQ from StasyQVR. Both files are 2700p. Max 5K is 22,000 kbps, whereas the original is 58,000 kbps. Now, I'd assume the original would have better clarity because of the higher bitrate. The question is, are these files playable, as in good frame rate and stutter free?
Any help and advice here would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.
Max 5K/6K versus Original?
Thank you for your help Sam. It was an interesting read.
I'm unable to test both files myself at the moment, but it was good to know that the larger and original file doesn't mean it's of better quality.

I was wondering too and found this thread. Is an original 5k download that has 4x the size of the other 5k download better quality?
Clueles Did you check the blog article?
If the encoding is done correctly a smaller filesize can produce even better quality. You're welcome to compare the original and the smaller file.
