I agree and disagree. While I like closeup positions where the girl fills the whole screen, hell it is VR I do not have to see the whole girl at once, I can choose which part I wanna look at at any time, the cowgirl camera in said scene makes no sense at all.

It is either way too low or way too close. If we assume the male is leaning back the height is right, but it is way too close. If we assume the male is sitting upright, the distance is perfect, but it is way too low, it should be head height if we assume a sitting position, you should look her right into the eyes not onto the tits, or almost belly.

While in some positions camera positions can be difficult, it is really hard to understand why it is so hard in sitting/lying cowgirl, I mean just position the camera in front of his head, or at very least in a position his head could be, and not over his chest.

        I disagree however that they shouldn’t be aiming for realism in terms of distances. The whole point of VR porn for me, and I’m just speaking for myself here, is that it should feel, as much as possible, like you are actually there having sex with the girl. I know it’s not real but the point is to make it as real as possible. If I don’t want that, I can go and watch 2d porn and see the whole girl in shot at all times. In VR you can move your head or use the tilt functions to adjust your view depending on what you want to see. Keeping to cowgirl position as that was your complaint, if you want to see the girls face, you look/tilt up. If you want to see the penetration, you look/tilt down, like real life.

        My issue is that, if the camera man zooms in and you’re too close, it no longer feels real. It feels like your dick is 6 inches below your chin and that becomes a problem for me. I don’t want cameras zooming in and out, I want a consistent realistic distance from my eye level to my dick and therefore to the action. You can still have close up missionary as you are basically laying on top of the girl face to face.

        Many studios consistently get this right like RealjamVR, Wankz, Czechvr, Virtualtaboo. Others like SLR Originals, VRB, NA and VRhush are pretty hit and miss imo.

            In real life the vertical FOV of my eyes is much, MUCH bigger than the vertical FOV my VR goggles offer. That's the whole point. In real life I barely have to move my head at all, I just look up and down from the very same position when laying on my back and a girl is riding me. And yes, of course I can tilt the cam all the time instead of moving my head. But that's not very immersive or realistic to me either, it's actually extremely "movie-like"...

            I don't say that the whole girl should be visible or anything. But it's just a bit too close in SLRO imho and not a good trade off between a realistic distance and a realistic (non tedious) vision anymore. Like you said, other major studios hit the sweet spot pretty regularly so it's not like people don't know how to shoot immersive VR porn...

                I think you can't go wrong with an escort scene. She agrees to do all the stuff your wife/girlfriend won't do - messy oil, anal, rough play or just softer and loving.
