Just wanted to post here about how amazing the new SLR app is. Can't wait for official release, but the beta is just about perfect.
Every studio should put content through there as I'm sure it'll become the go to app. I also think the pay per video model is wise given the current state of things. People are always starting and stopping and resuming subscriptions as is. I feel like there could even be more money to be made this way. Or subs through SLR would work too. But it is one amazing content delivery machine. I know a few places still aren't on it -- they're insane. I don't know the business logistics around it are, but I'm sure it has to be worthwhile.
SLR's new player is the best I've seen (on mobile) out of at least a dozen. Far better than what most studios out on their web sites or suggest from the play store.
So I really think there's gonna come a time where if you're not on there, you're screwed. Just for the convenience let alone the player. It fixes "bad" videos...or rather inconsistencies such as viewing non-stereoscopic videos as if they were...that leads to the double vision effect. Sure, you forgo a little "3D" but at least you don't go cross eyed. Then there's all sorts of other settings too. Even a tilt if you like laying down while watching content.
The player is so good that it's all you need - even for your local files, which it can load too.
Before on my older android the app crashed almost immediately. Not so with the new one. Performance is great. It's so perfect.
