I hope the Vision Pro could inspire Apple to build VR recordings into some of their future phones. Hopefully others will then follow and we can get VR cameras in the hands of the many rather than the few.

next fall they are adding a 48meg sensor to the iphone16pro....to get it to 4k? not sure how long the clips can be
nothing on the new S24 phone on this...i do like the better width apart of the lenses...but they have no info on the capability of it or if does it. they also have a headset coming out

Apple said that you can only watch the spatial iPhone vids on Vision Pro and they will look like regular 2D videos on any other device.
i have been seeing other youtube content makers say different things about SEEING clips on different headsets...have to do something extra to make that happen

Yes I saw that as well. Let's see long term. My general hope is that Apple can push for more high quality regular VR content that is worth watching. I don't know about the '3D' films, etc. but I would enjoy full length standup shows and concerts in full VR - maybe were I can jump around, I'm kind of surprised Netflix that does Standups haven't tried that. One of the things about standup is that in my experience it's funnier when you are actually there and VR could make that happen.
spanker But you don't really need a native app to watch youtube or Netflix content, do you? You can just use Safari. The question rather is: How will you be able to watch VR porn if there is no HS or DeoVR? And will you be able to watch SLR vids in Safari in VR? Doesn't work for iOS or macOS.

netflix...would lose the lil environment they create. prime seems to have better controls than netflix

Not sure if this has been discussed, but does that mean SLR + Vision Pro will only support streaming on the browser and not useable with offline content?

i do lots and lots with CAM girls....super super close-up stuff on body parts...so IF iphone16 comes out with 48meg sensor...i am good buying it just for that purpose. BUT need to have screen extremely zoomable and movable

Vision Pro would only be good for the PT videos, and not the VR videos. Apple is so strict with their App Store too; I don't know if they would even approve the DeoVR app

Apple has confirmed that it will fully support WebXR, which means DeoVR will work smoothly upon release.

Manny_S Yes, 7k total or 3.5k per eye is actually more accurate here. IMHO, for something to qualify as 4k per eye, it would be 4000x4000 pixels (8000x4000 combined, 32 million pixels) OR it would be 3840 x 4320 per eye. That combines to 7680 x 4320, or 33 million pixels, which matches the 8k TV and monitor standard.
The Apple Vision Pro is 7360 x 3140 combined, so most of its "pixel deficit" from hitting 4k per eye is in the shorter vertical count. That's about 23 million pixels. So no, it's not 4k per eye, but guess what, it obliterates all other consumer headsets on the market including the Crystal which has 16 million pixels. Also, with the pixel pitch of the uOLED tech, there will be much less space between the pixels! The combined high resolution with a low pixel pitch will basically eliminate the SDE for porn videos. Now we just need bigger 12k files from future cameras with high bitrates and good compression technology (like AV1) to actually take full advantage of it.
Remember 7k and 8k headsets don't even come remotely close to maxing out from 7k and 8k files, because you're only viewing a smaller 4k-ish portion of the scene at once. In order to take advantage of these crazy new headsets we need at least 12K resolution VR180 cameras. Even seeing 10K as a stopgap would be cool though.

This passage has me skeptical that SLR will work with AVP, at least initially: “The stranger thing is that Safari on the Vision Pro is pretty disconnected from web-based 3D experiences. For us here its a very expensive AR VR porn video player.
Me personally that's all I'd probably use it for, the apps, playing 2d games, watching 3d movies/2dmovies and using it as computer I could careless for.
So far this vision pro is not living up to its hype, imo from what I saw on these early reviews.
Oh, and one reviewer showed how easy the facegaurd comes off if you pick it up by holding the face guard.
And the front view of your eyes looks low res, was how one reviewer described it.

Kinda odd looking but the technology is impressive, it'll get better tho.
Be cool to take calls and video calls while in games.
Example your playing a racing car game and video call comes in and you answer while racing.

I'm upgrading to AVP from the Quest Pro (QP). The biggest issue I have with the QP (besides being a FB product) is sweat. The displays are pretty good, but there's definitely pixels there. I'm not wow'd by the pass through (PT), and it's not like my house is more appealing than your average porn set. I really don't use the QP for anything besides the pron, and I'm looking forward to being rid of it.
Definitely excited for this weekend with the AVP. I've watched several recent unboxing/initial reviews and I haven't seen anything that makes me regret ordering one. Obviously, my main use case isn't mentioned by any of the reviewers, lol. I do plan to explore other uses, as I'm heavily invested in the Apple ecosystem, both for work and play.

Right, I'm listening to them saying what can you do with it, they show off some cool stuff but I'm just like SHOW THEM THE HOTTIES, show em the AR video of a slr dancing stipper, no nudity, that right there would make it feel worth 4000$ to many. Lol
It looks impressive tho. 
Most definitely looks great for media and vrp and AR videos.
I bet latter you'll be able to Bluetooth vr controllers for actual vr games.

There it is, the killer app! Writing texts on a laptop. But they already had me at the Tom Cruise part.

I don’t think there’s gonna be too many people in here that will have one to review.
It’s mainly for developers. I think Apples next headset will be the one you’ll want to get after this one has the kinks taken out and it’s had more time to develop. Will be very interesting in the next couple of years whether the Quest 4 or Vision Pro 2 is the better option. Remember the first iteration of the iPhone didn’t take as well until it got worked on.
