Manny_S

Unhigenic Brad was right, the depth sensor significantly improves the image quality!

Those vivid colors are impressive! How do these new LCD panels compare to OLED for contrast ratio and nits?

Manny_S still some kinda warping tho, right?

When you move your hands in q3 you can see the grass kinda warps a Lil.

But picture wise it does look better

What it look like in a dim lit room?
Like, just a lamp on.

Very weird meta invited all these adults to review the quest 3, they all look in their late 20s early 30s.

Lol you saw no teens or kids trying it out, just kinda strange to me.

Lol dude had to be at least 35 or older up in that room, making all these weird gestures while playing the q3, lol 😆

Vrsumo2017 honestly I feel like that’s the main demographic that’s gonna be buying this..20, 30s, early 40s. The games that are out there don’t really lend themselves to kids imo. Obviously there are a bunch that do, but overall I just don’t see young kids having the attention span or patentixe to keep this thing strapped to their head for hours and have the restraint not to just run around and get hurt with it. Also it’s kind of a lot of money when you could just buy your kids an Xbox or somethjng for similar price and they’d get way more use out of that.

Manny_S damn if I knew you could record I would have bought the 512gb version. Zuckerberg messed up there by not announcing that. @Manny_S next time a Connect takes place, I would like you on stage.

Hairsational It's a typo that should say "40% thinner"

you are correct but the actual headset on its own is actually lighter than the Quest 2, it just becomes heavier when you put that detachable material, plasticky fascia bit in that rests on your forehead and cheeks - I dunno what that bit is called. I saw a guy on YouTube weighing it with and without that extra fascia bit. @Vrsumo2017 is right though, pretty much every reviewer is saying that it doesn't feel as heavy as the Quest 2 as the centre of gravity is closer to your face on the Quest 3

I am going to see if I can cancel my Q3 128 gb and buy the Q3 512gb and still get it on the 10th. EDIT - getting a temporarily out of stock message 🙁

Hurto11 keep this thing strapped to their head for hours

I've done plenty of hours 🤣

theHobbit getting a temporarily out of stock message 🙁

Lol it's the ar porn pass through plus the vrp too, they want that extra space, lol 😆

          A much more pressing question:
On the Q2, I can't play any downloaded high quality SLRO 8000x4000 files anymore without stuttering if they have bitrates of around 140. I think this started 3 months ago with the Freya Von Doom scene. Will the Q3 be able to handle these files?

saw quest3 content capture using wired connection could be 4k 30fps and plus additional 30degrees FOV

gotta assume this will get better in the NEXT few versions of headsets

Hurto11 I just thought of something, lol you see a guy in his late 40s early 50s buying a headset q3, two reason he's buying it, 1 maybe for his kid or grandkids or 2 for him self and no way that 50 yr buying it for the games 🤣 🤦‍♂️

SchnuppiLilac This sort of thing you won't know until you try because published specs for the chip don't detail that. My guess is that HEVC decoding is virtually the same as XR2 Gen1.

Hairsational Strange thing is that the issue only occurs with videos that were released after SLR started filming in 8K again. There are older 8000x4000 videos with bitrates of up to 200 that could be played perfectly fine on Q2.
