Bit of a random solution but it works.
If you have an original and a gen 2 sleeve, cut the top off the original and put it inside the gen 2 sleeve.

I find it creates a little more suction, and with the extra layer of padding the double layer creates I can practically insert myself soft and let the handy to get me hard.

As someone who almost returned the handy - because it was far too complicated to use while getting setup and holding onto it and adjusting your vr headset, etc., the following works pretty well.

Handy is connected to small monitor stand (just the base and pole of the stand) using these:

Even without the hands free part, the following should still work, i.e you could have the sleeve in the handy without the user being present or hard.

Setup the strap and sleeve ahead of time, i.e. you are not involved so no need to be ready.
To keep the handy gen2 sleeve in place on its own, I use a very soft flexible/stretchable rubber ring (RingO2 C-Ring with Ball Sling) plus a small piece of soft packing foam, this is just the right size to go around the outside of the handy sleeve to create a larger lip on the sleeve, and prevent the sleeve from falling down and out of the 3rd party velcro based strap I use, and flexible enough you don't feel it. This lets you keep the velcro strap very loose (my preference), holds the sleeve in place regardless of user presence or erectness, makes setup super easy (no need to be erect, or lubed, etc.), after use you don't even need to undo the strap, you can just leave it in place. This setup has never had the sleeve come out, or the velcro come loose.

The other thing I use is a small microfibre towel with a hole cut in the middle and placed between you and the sleeve, catches 99% of any lube or anything else that leaks out and keeps your dangling bits away from the handy.

mnmlikereal I don't know the "procedure" you're following 😂 But here's mine.

  1. Grab the sleeve and apply lube. Do not put it in the Handy just yet. Lube suggestion: Onatsuyu "Pussy Juicy"
  2. Get hard
  3. Insert penis in sleeve. Jerk off a bit to distribute lube; rotating the sleeve also works. Also, try to press the sleeve to release air and create a bit of vacuum inside
  4. Place handy in position (underbelly, just above the pubic area) and...
  5. Align the Handy mount/arm/strap (the thing that goes up/down) with the sleeve (on your penis). Either push the sleeve all the way down with one hand to align both the device arm with the sleeve, OR, let the sleeve come to a natural resting position (if you created a vacuum, the sleeve would not fall off) and then move the arm up/down until it's aligned with your sleeve
  6. Slide the sleeve/penis combo in the correct position and adjust the strap. Don't make it too tight, or it will cause problems. Just secure it enough so it won't come off easily, and it's not too tight for you to feel the "texture" of the sleeve (too tight means that the strap AND sleeve will move your skin up and down, you'll not feel the sleeve sliding around you)
  7. (optional) Now that you know what's the perfect "grip setting," you can grab the tip of the sleeve (top) and slowly get out of it (remember there's a vacuum, so that's why you should hold the end of the sleeve so you don't drag the entire thing). Once entirely outside, move the Handy to its max height and align the tip of the penis with the entrance of the sleeve. Hit play and enjoy the feeling of slooooowly going in the girl 😜 Don't do that if you are afraid of noises because it perfectly emulates queefing (pussy farts) 😂
  8. Enjoy!

I know it sounds like many steps and things to do to use a toy. But once you get used to it, you can be all set and watching the video in less than a minute.

Also, use the right lube. USE THE RIGHT LUBE. I bought the Onatsuyu because it's so damn thick, slippery, lasts long, and has this overall "natural/real" feeling, like vaginal discharge in super fertile days. It's insane. Whatever brand you choose, make sure it's designed for sex toys!

mnmlikereal I struggle with this as well. Only thing that has helped me is purchasing that Stanly DIY Vice . . . get everything set us and adjusted with it mounted to my desk keyboard tray (slides in and out). I sit in my office chair and watch whatever to get erect . . . I have to make sure that I'm at "that point" and just pull the pullout drawer closer to me so that I can insert. As long as there's no connection issues at that point, I'm good. I've been having connection issues but that's another topic.
