doorsareopen but to literally ban every video that has a bottle of alcohol in it whether it's being drunk or not seems very totalitarian and controlling
Welcome to the wonderful world of the Mastercard/Visa duopoly, where anything that could possibly give pressure groups ammunition to campaign on is verboten, in case it causes MC/Visa a PR problem. It's the censorship equivalent of 'shoot first and ask questions later'.
Us: 'What about the actual plot of a scene? Just because there's alcohol visible in the frame doesn't mean the characters are drunk or un-consenting. What about the nuance?'
MC/Visa: 'Nuance? We've heard of it, but we don't like it. Blanket bans are safer. Comply or else.'
I know there's not much point in moaning about it here, SLR is being cautious, which I get. But I will absolutely moan about the principle of it. Private companies should not be censoring our culture, and porn is part of that culture, whether you enjoy it or hate it. That it is both legal and expected is frankly offensive in a supposedly free society. But most of our societies, while considerably freer than some around the world, are nowhere near as free as we think.
