VR camera manufacturing specs

As we are getting serious figuring out the tech side of things curious what would be the right specs we should be looking for.

I would say we are looking for POV camera perfectly capturing humans. The major focus would be getting stereopsis right along with realistic scale.

Tech specs would be something like 8K, 60FPS, stereo, 12 bit.

I guess sensor is the biggest limiting factor. You don't have much to choose from.

We are contracting pro camera manufacturer now to get us the right camera

...in rather close proximity, ranging from something like 5 m away down to only 5 cm away from the lenses.

doublevr I think your initial aim to downsample from 10k is ideal. Downsampeling does really seem to help max out the maximum 8192x4096@60fps.

Scale and stereoscopics are very important but imo what you really need is an image quality and resolution boost while maintaining similar scale and stereoscopics as the 6k rig.

For example, the Canon camera has inherent issues (warping and scale) but even then I still prefered it over the 6k rig by quite a bit purely because the image quality can be so much better (if done properly like in https://www.sexlikereal.com/scenes/big-black-tits-28255).
