  • DEOvr crashes after most recent update

Not sure if I post this here for help or elsewhere (reddit??). But a video will play about three quarters the way through then resolve back to the home grid. Update was on Feb-28. Can I reinstall the last version?

I guess I should add that this is on the Quest 2.

Hey, I am trying to recreate this, thanks for reporting. If it happens again try to remember the steps, thanks.

Sandi_SLR I have the same/similar issue using the latest version of the SLR app on the Quest 2. It just crashes randomly when playing videos either from the SLR library or through DLNA. Last night it even crashed every time I clicked on a SLR video although DLNA videos did work it crashed too after a few minutes.

I also experience slowdown when opening the menu while playing a video. Sometimes when I look around about half of the screen isn't rendered and remains black for about a second. This happens on the main menu and in videos.

I don't know how to reproduce the crashes reliably, maybe you have some crash logs that are useful? The general slowdown should be able to be reproduced by just looking around and using the menu.

Can you tell us if this happens with certain resolutions only, H.264 or h.265, or both?
How about playback from a file on the Quest 2 itself. (so no network used)

Do you mean any video on SLR, or specifically SLR Originals?
If SLRO, does it make a difference if it's fisheye or not?

        Are you using a toy?
If you have the issue with a file on the Quest 2, can you disable the interactive toggles in the settings?
        Using Android overlay one/off?

        Controllers, gamepad, hand tracking?

        Thanks!

I also noticed little crackling lights all over the screen after the update. Does anybody else see them? When a scene starts and everything is back for a second you can see little firefly lights blinking all over the screen. After the scene starts I don't see them anymore but I think they are still there.

I've been having issues too. I have trouble with SLR only though, videos thru DLNA and videos on the headset play fine, but SLR would take forever to load. I would also get logged off multiple times.

Once it fails to load I can sometimes get it to work again by restarting DEOVR, but it will slowly load 1 video and play it fine oncce it loads. If I exit the video, the indefinite three dots will happen again on the SLR main page. Then I need to restart DEOVR and log in again to watch another video.

Rakly3 Apologies, but the crashing was apparently because of com.oculus.guardian constantly crashing. A message popped up yesterday which I didn't see before opting me to close it or keep it running. I ended up factory resetting my Quest because all the known fixes didn't work. The SLR app works fine now for me, just like it did before the update.
