  • Video Playing counts as Downloads : Heresphere

please forgive me if what i say hits the nerve here...

i saw that SLR does not want to do business with heresphere, and totally respect that.
but, there are a small community of users like me who open slr in heresphere browser, click on download video & play it natively.

while this works, downloading for native playback counts towards the 30 video download limit. Is it possible if you guys could support heresphere web api, similar to how naughty america does?

there are certain features which i like in heresphere like the ability to adjust 6 DOF orientation with a joystick instead of adjusting 6 separate slides in SLR/DEOVR app [yaw, roll, etc.]. Also, there is other feature of autofocus....

would really love your opinion on this.... while fair use policy is 'fair', i feel that it might be unfair to those of us who use heresphere.... would appreciate your comments,

    Otherwise it's just another business enterprise trying to compete with us. The fucker never said thank you for all the help we gave him to get him our integration released.

        If that was true you could try to make SLR/deovr as good as heresphere. There is a lot good about heresphere, but one major thing for me is seek times. When i play local files the seek time on HS is like 10x faster, if not more. Clicking ahead in deovr could pause for 3-4 seconds, but when played on HS its a fraction of a second. When i like to forward ahead many times this is a major time saver.

          I would not necessarily call it "ultimate playback" HS is still an overall better player experience, you just happen to have a giant pool of content behind you that lets you not be as aggressive in the development of your own player ecosystem.

          We are not living in the vacuum. Things are done for a reason. We can't facilitate every group of users.

            Well what is it that makes HS seek times drastically faster? And that doesnt just go for deovr, playavr is slower too

                SLR have their own player (DeoVR) which is free to use and the player they want you to use to watch their content.

                They have said numerous times that they have no interest in working with the owner of Heresphere so they obviously aren’t going to set up an API on there to make it easier for you to use it to watch SLR content. If you want to watch SLR stuff on there, you’ll have to use your downloads.

                I’m not saying this is good or bad by the way, just stating the facts.
