Curious if that helps
Here's a little hack if you're using the Quest 2 with the black & white passthrough. Okay, not really a hack, but it helps. I use DeoVr, but if you're using another player it should still work.
Turn off the lights and have a TV or tablet playing some video so it's lighting up the room a little.
Load your video and activate the passthrough. On Deo, if you're doing the chromakey passthrough, use 31 for the hue setting, 96 saturation, 100 for brightness, range at 360 and falloff at 958. That should get rid of the green screen pretty well, but you may have to tweak them a little, especially range and falloff if you're getting a little green around the outside edge.
Go to the Image section and set contrast around -32, brightness around -25, saturation around -11. This will get the video into a range that matches the light coming from the TV.
So basically you and the video character are doing it in a darkened room and you don't notice the lack of color from the passthrough, but the character has a little saturation but not unrealistically.
You may have to adjust the image settings slightly based on each individual video, but those numbers above should get you in the ballpark.
If in the passthrough, things in the room look a little smudged/blurry, clean the small little camera sensors on the bottom left and bottom right at the front of the headset with a microfiber towel.
Also, to adjust the scale of the character, use Horizontal Offset in the Transform section. Positive numbers make them bigger, negative numbers make them smaller.
