...here's a question:
Is a PT scene significantly cheaper to produce than a normal scene? My assumption is that it is, never having to 'make' a new set and the ease of always dealing with the same grey box to shoot in, as regards exposure, depth of field, and wtvr technicals need to be traditionally adjusted for each setting.
If my assumption is valid, then why not use PT to make some niche stuff? As anybody who pays attention knows, the quality of material on SLR has become abnormally vanilla recently. Horrendously so, in fact. If PT is less demanding financially, then why not, as an experiment for now, produce a bit of Femdom PT and see where that goes? Femdom is the most obvious fetish, with the biggest fan base. Although small compared to the vanilla crowd, us fetish types gravitate quickly to anything that fulfils our needs, and pay well for the privilege.
PT Femdom would be perfect, as long as it has a decent script. Also, PT clowns / hijabs (seriously...) / anime characters, and wtvr else floats somebodies boat, all have been discussed recently on this forum, amidst much wailing of teeth at their absence. (*cough, ebony...)
Maybe SLR doesn't want to dilute the brand? Personally, i think that's a massively unprogressive move. The whole thing about SLR is that they're all about the innovation, so pls, innovate some original porn as well as some new technology!
To quote Bill Hicks: '...if you've got enough courage to make porno films, go ahead and be creative about it, you're already over the - ye know, you've jumped the chasm here...'we're gonna film people fuckin and suckin'. Cool! Now go crazy, you already made the jump... You are within the Dark Lord's terrain at this point... there's no reason to get coy...'
