pretty much all the VR sites can barely provide the in-page streaming/preview video right now, but the downloading seems to work well? what gives? considering the ever more-stringent download limits on SLR, i depend on being able to skip through a low-quality stream to see if it's worth downloading, so i don't want to waste my allocation on low quality just to check if i like the scene or not

guess i shouldn't be surprised, probably lots of new gooners showing up to all the VR sites this weekend

anyone else noticing this? maybe i'm being throttled and should try a VPN?

Confirming the same issue here, with an oculus quest. Checked network, router, vr hardware/firmware etc were all up to date and properly set on my end, and continue to get poor in page streaming from almsot every site, including SLR, forcing me to downscale from default resolution. Curiouis if this is an SLR APP issue - hopefully its being identified, because the current SLR VR experience as of this post*, has become quite the troubleshooting task.

That said the net is getting absolutely smashed at the moment, all those brand new tech toys simultaneously getting set up and updated really tests the infrastructure. My ISP is giving me speeds about 20% of the usual, across multiple sites and speedtest services. Even the Cloudflare speedtest is giving me a fraction of my usual speed. (Cloudflare has edge servers in most ISPs worldwide, and in theory should be less affected by congestion elsewhere on the net.) Using my VPN was even worse.

If you're having the same issues across multiple sites it would point to the wider net being under stress, hopefully it will subside once all the new PS5/XBox updates are finished and everyone is happily escaping into tech or succumbing to a holiday food coma.

Can anyone tell me why I can stream with HereSphere at 8K on Wankzvr.
I can watch all downloaded videos at 8K
But if I stream with the deo SLR app my computer starts to heat up and cuts the frames in half. Only with Deo app streaming. It even does it at the lowest setting. 1440
I'm using a Pimax 8K X.

    rerun119 Have you checked if by accident h264 codec is chosen in video settings? Should be h265 to use GPU acceleration.

        Samsonite121 Yea I know it's on h265 and still does it. I had my brother over for xmas and he took a quick look at it. He's a computer programmer, He said that the Deo program is probably not written as good as HereSphere and is using a lot more computer to run the videos.

          so it's really just the VR sites, i haven't had any issues with any other website or online service these past 2 weeks, including 2D porn sites

          now every download fails at 75% and streaming is very spotty, this whole time

          weird observation: all the download sizes appear to be roughly the same...? almost like the uploads themselves aren't even completing?
