  • DeoVR Can't Play 200 Degree Videos

I've seen a few topics about this but nothing about it being resolved. I put up with it for ages but newer videos look really awesome and I'd really love to watch them, except on DeoVR it looks like looking through the peephole in a door. I think it's just showing me the flat 200 degree video without mapping it to a 200 degree sphere.

Using DeoVR, there is no fisheye setting to turn off or on (I've read people comment on that toggle in other "200 degrees not working" threads, but in my case it's a moot point because it's not there. Lol).

I think it must be a metadata problem with the files on the server? There are a few 200 degree videos that do work, but almost all don't, which means that DeoVR can play that format, and I trust all the people who say it works fine for them.

It's really frustrating. :/

Anyone have any help?

This is the issue. Meta has stopped supporting the Oculus Go over a year ago. You need a newer version of the app which the Go does not support.

In one week Meta will also end their commitment to issue security updates, it's really time to upgrade your hardware.

The Quest 2 and Pico 4 are both excellent for the price. The Quest Pro is amazing, and both the Pico and Quest Pro will let you experience the new game-changing passthrough videos, as well as playing the 200 degree content.

It's the holidays, you owe this to yourself. ;-)

      why200noworkdangit If you are using an Oculus Go and like the VR porn then if you got anything newer you would be in absolute heaven.
