  • Volumetric videos 6-DOF

So i made a test 6DoF video, not the one as refered in original post, but this one is also interesting and is already has a working app. Its called Touchly app
here is a link for a file to try
https://mega.nz/file/0iZggLhT#IR_NQtxqf5s_bsWi5-1V1BvjwhijW1yNVln1bX3aodI
rendering of 20 seconds video took around 20 minutes
you can download App and copy that video into your oculus headset and try it out
Not the best result though, but it is what technology has to offer for now
Let me know what you think

metaverse Thank you for the video. What settings do I have to use? Seems like whatever settings I use, I always get a double image and it's overall not really viewable.

You can also try creating your own. Just visit their website for a free render software, download equirectangular video and follow the instructions provided on their website.
I recommend trying several seconds first since its a really time consuming process.
Tried fisheye video myself and it didn't work quite well, that's why better start with equirect.
Also just a suggestion - better to download a lower resolution like 4-6K since it might not work on a full 8K resolution video.

metaverse I think I need their player to play the video? I don't have a Meta headset, that's why I can't properly test it. Guess I have to wait, until they bring their player to other plattforms as well.

Playing this video in deo vr doesn't work. Even if I choose side by side, I still get a double image.

          same here...

want test but realized that i have only pico 4...

maybe there is somewhere similar app which work through virtual desktop and can play such clips ?

otherwise this bad if its only possible with quest and this app...=/

or would be nice if deovr could just add and implement this feature to there player...

dudu32 I don't think there is any other player. But the developers want to bringt that player to other platforms as well. I think it will be available on Steam sooner or later.

dudu32 but able to walk around in vr porn environment and look from many angles at the sex scene (like stand near the bed) and then you walk to a chair

You can kinda do that now, turn on the 6dof and look for old 360 vr porn vids, I tried a old vrhush video with cherie Deville it's a threesome video

Or find a 360 video on deo, and pause it, and try to walk to objects, it's basically just zooming in as you walk towards a direction, but pretty cool to see how it could work. But make sure u have a clear walking path, lol

@metaverse hey there's an idea, 🤔 try sum 360 filming for greenscreen pt to use with the 6dof

            Could work...

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️ me running to look for 360 video. 😉

            So no improvements yet?

Really all it needs is more zooming with the head motion, like a lot! and when the 6dof is on the zoom default should be what ever my zoom default is.

There's not a few clicks there in yalls program to adjust these settings real quick.

            Like today?

I'll test it and tell yall if it needs more zoom or not and then yall can readjust if needed

Com on, I wanna zoom into a shoulder during doggy, or lean in like im going in for a nipple moving my head to each nipple during far away cg

            YOU CAN DO IT!

And the 6dof imo might be best with pt cuz when you zooming in the whole back ground zooms in with her, in pt it be just her body getting all the movements/zoom with the head motion.

But its up to the viewer pt on or off, but good to have options. 👍

Vrsumo2017 Put 6dof on and then go back to the setting that let you zoom and stuff. You can see when you are moving around what setting it is changing.

I think Nvida NeRF will play a huge role in making breakthroughs in this field:
              https://developer.nvidia.com/blog/getting-started-with-nvidia-instant-nerfs/

There are already companies being built that will bring this technology to consumers with just their phone camera to map an area. Going to be real interesting once we see professional grade equipments capturing the volumetric data for a scene.

I think the challenge will be in decoding all that data while playbacking an 8K video and processing all the changes in realtime.

Anyone that has tried Virt-A-Mate knows that 6DOF and interactivity is the next leap.
