Audio out of sync on local files

Hello, I am having issues with the audio being out of sync with the video when I play downloaded local files. The audio is always ahead of the video, but it is not a consistent amount of desync. If i rewind the the scene and play the same part a few times, the audio is always synced up differently, but always ahead. The issue is there on both SLR app and Deos. I tried installing the HEVC and K-lite codecs as i saw suggested on a post here but it didn't help. Any thoughts on what my next troubleshooting step should be?

I am using the Valve Index headset, and running on a GTX 1080, Ryzen 3800x setup

Ohulu Does the audio sync when you lower the playback speed? You might have to skip or restart playback first after changing the playback speed for it to take effect.

If so, can you try a video with lower bitrate? Disable any secondary monitors you might have. Lower the settings of your primary display (especially refresh rate). Use Display Port instead of HDMI if possible?

You don't have to do all of these, they are just some possibilities to try.
