  • DLNA is getting back to SLR app during this week

I don't talk much in chat but would like to say a big thank you that slr will compromise and hopefully keep this feature, unfortunately I can only speak for myself and hope it will reassure many critical people, basically we all just want the same thing , good films with great scripts at a fair price so thanks to the slr team.

Thank yall for keeping this feature! This is the best way for me to use scripts, definitely don't mind keeping my subscription if it means I can use DLNA. thanks again

    It was a bad idea to remove it. That's like a movie company saying okay now we're going to turn off all your blue ray players so that you can only watch movies in the theaters. You were definitely your own worst enemy with that removal idea.

      doublevr will payingv customers who's had a subscription will be able to use it? Or will it be locked behind a continuous pay wall?

      doublevr We are all human and we all make mistakes at some time.It takes maturity and courage to admit one's mistakes and correct them.For that,you have earned my respect,and support.

      doublevr Kudos on good customer service, shit happens, mistakes happen.. At the end of the day you got this one right.. DLNA is crucial to the SLR and VR experience here. Ty for reversing this decision

      @doublevr
      I think this thread should be pinned to the top for a little while... šŸ˜‰

      Might be even worth sending out a newsletter with this information for all ex-subscribers who already cancelled their sub and don't read the forum or reddit or whatever. šŸ¤”

      @doublevr will the premium access on the SLR app be a 1 time fee? Or will it be a recurring pay wall that users who want to access content they paid for via Subscription to SLR.com also have to pay to continue to use the app?
      I'm okay with a 1 time fee for a polished vr viewing app that has what I need. What the community doesn't want is another recurring subscription fee they are forced to pay monthly just to access the content they're already paying for.

      Officially it's the acronym for Digital Living Network Alliance

      But I like to call it Direct Local Network Access as it is more descriptive of what it actually is šŸ™‚
      It's a way to access media files on your network that is file-system independent. Meaning it doesn't matter if its FAT NTFS Ext and whatnot. (Windows, linux, iOS/MAC OS, arm, x86, 32bit, 64bit.... and so on) and cross subdomains.

      SMB on the other hand is much easier to use, but you must use compatible file-systems. And I think has to be on the same subdomain also.

      oh, and if you wonder what it's actually used for with our apps. Its so you can access VR content stored on other devices at home. - It's also a lot easier to hide a DLNA than SMB if you don't want any one to know about it.

      A big thank you to doublevr and the SLR team to restore the DLNA in DeoVR.I am your fan for life.
