I think it would be good if SLR left the option for the viewer to leave a 5 Star icon next to the video or a Thumbs up Thumbs down icon, the majority of videos are great but there are some that are not, is this something SLR might consider?
5 Star rating review icon on videos ?
Sorry but I don't believe the minority wants their experience being overshadowed by downvotes. Yucking someone else's yum is antagonistic to a friendly and positive-oriented community. If it's good, then a simple like/favorite is ok, if not then as they say, we can simply move on.

You don't need 2 gauges to tell if video is good or not, presumably low likes -- might not be a good video, bunch of likes -- probably a good one
For any specific feedback there is a comment section, comments you can downvote however

there are a FEW clips i see and want to hit the down button....just to get the producer's attention. a few are on autopilot and missing the mark over and over on various categories

100%. I don't think a lot of users realize how many of the producers actively read and even respond to user comments on their videos. It's a very cool thing

i think we need messaging
they can read comments and maybe ask questions away from the actual video clip.
i made a comment yesterday on a clip...IT WAS AIMED at the producer. not really at the one clip.
they have all the things in place to make their stuff viewed 1000 percent more....simple simple reallocation of some of their clip time. just two to three minutes and they become watchable over and over. as it is now? one time for 10 percent of the clip.
tipping will also help. I SEE stuff i like...i tip.
if a cam girl or onlyfans girl made me a clip i paid for...i would send them 5bucks every time i used the clip...like a residual. made it fun. i would say this is a VIRTUAL WARM TOWEL for cleaning up my mess on your body.
it made them want to make more and better clips for me.
THE first thing that popped into my head about this? is another way to find the clips i like
when you have 1000 favorites...it gets hard
lately, i am just clicking the like button on and off to move it to the front.
i also take screenshots for this same purpose
i have on many occasions spent hrs looking clip in my FAVs...it's a little fun for about 20min...just for memory exercises of an old dude, but gets frustrating at times. all in all, probably good for me
i definitely want to send a message to a producer sometimes...some are so close and can't see it...it's frustrating
I like this idea in theory AND I recognize that it could lead some people to have a negative experience on the SLR site.
However, my understanding is that the producers use the "favorite" button as a way to determine user desires--I don't like this because that means if I want to encourage a certain type of video, I need to put it on my favorites list. I don't want to put every video I like in my favorites list.
So, here is my suggestion--do something like what Netflix does--that is, they have a thumbs up button and they have a two thumbs up button. But don't put a thumbs down button. And don't make a playlist out of the thumbs. That would make sure nobody gets his or her favorite videos downgraded, but the the producers get a better idea of what users like.
It might even work to have a thumbs up for specific scenes in the videos. That way producers can tell, for example, that lots of people like they way they shoot missionary, but maybe they don't do doggy so well.

I agree that providers who put out great content should be rewarded with some type of notoriety or system that give them the opportunity to boost views. However, perhaps it should be something more categorical and less binary. One man’s junk is another man’s treasure. Some of these performers and studios go to great lengths, travel far distances and put a lot into these productions. The beauty of SLR is that it gives opportunity for numerous fetishes, genres and themes to be presented. Not everyone is going to like the same thing, therefore it’s unfair to the talent and community in general if (hypothetically) a person who doesn’t like blondes gives one star, because they would have preferred a brunette in the role. Even trickling down, I’ve heard some people complain about non-POV/voyeur scenes. Some people are into that. All of this is very subjective, the only thing that really would be fair is maybe (even the maybe is a maybe) is a blind feedback button to the site manager directly, in order to pass along suggestions and ideas, just for the purposes of creating better experiences for common threads. It’s more than just not hurting peoples feelings, or demeaning other types of less popular thematic work. There is a lid for every pot. If you see a studio putting out several scenes over a span of time, whether you like the scenes/talent or not, you can be sure someone else is enjoying it. They are not in the business to break even or lose money. Okay, that’s my two cents of opinion for the day!

i like clips that can appeal to many people....it's very easy. sometimes it only takes 30 seconds here and there of a long 30minute clip.
sometimes they just don't know what it is yet...a few suggestions and examples could unlock it for them.
that fantastica series is a great example....they have the very pretty girls...they are so close to the things i would like to see, but keep falling short of getting there. just a re-allocation of 30seconds here and there. zoom in? for some clear and still shots. that hard to do?
i would kinda like a LITTLE McDonald's in these series....i know what i am going to get every time....THE GIRL is the new variable i look forward to, but certain elements are mostly going to be present in the clip
as it is now? i will skip thru it in 2min and see if there is anything i like....it's a ONE-TIME THING ONLY. VS me coming back to it over and over. i have clips i have used 50plus times...simple shit that takes only 30 seconds???
ONE DAY after i wrote underneath a random clip in that series? the very next video was almost as i suggested. I KNOW THEY don't work that fast, but was pretty funny

Likes are an absolute terrible way to judge quality.
Older videos simply will have more likes because they are online for a longer time.
A low number of likes might also mean not many people have seen a scene, and has nothing to do with the scene quality.
At the very minimum there should be a like/disklike ratio, although I think this is still way to imprecise. Most videos do not fall in the better then anything else or absolute garbage category so what are you choosing?
A 1-5 or 1-10 rating would be a lot better, but I would prefer an odd number, because it makes you actually think about your decision, unlike even numbers that tend to get a strong tendency into the middle of the rating.
