  • What factors break immersion

Late to this old thread but can't help but rant:

  • Shaking camera is a deal breaker. I do a quick preview check and if the camera isn't fixed, next video.

  • If the guy grabs her or puts out his arm and it's full of tattoos. Sweet so that's not my arm. Go go gadget cartoon clown arm.

  • Overacting. Especially giggling in between sentences.
    I can sympathize that naturally you're supposed to be excited that you're about to have sex, but still the intros need work.

  • Or when her script has her holding a conversation with you where she says something, waits for your participation, then responds. LOL. I do talk back and feel like a dipshit talking to a video. But if I don't it's pretty bad.

  • Always having to be buck naked every single time. The girls have all kinds of props and outfits and after the five minute intro, they get rid of them and are buck naked for the rest of the forty minute video, making the props useless. Especially if it's a themed video.

The role playing aspect is just brutal. The huge mansions, the jacked man bods, the tattoos, the jumbo dicks. In real life women go for these kinds of guys, so what is this shit supposed to be based on a TRUE STORY?! It's evident these film companies just invite girls over to their private mansion to shoot videos, but since the average viewer is average, this breaks immersion. Not that they need to give a shit about these details as they still get filthy rich exploiting our vice anyway; we will still invest in this no matter how bad the film making acumen is and they know it.

      So funny--I've read most of the responses and I think the one thing that is clear is that there are a lot of different opinions and that not every video is going to please everyone. Many of the things that others find disruptive are things I LOVE. For example, long BJs between breaks in the fucking.

      However, one of the problems I see in VR is that many studios try to please everyone by including as many positions and sex acts as they can--they end up only partially pleasing viewers.

      I find too many position changes break immersion for me. Reverse cowgirl breaks it too. But I love regular cowgirl. Doggy breaks it too.

      My favorite videos are POV edging videos (and they have been for years, even when I could only watch flat videos) and I love the VR Edging videos. I think they could improve and they are improving.

        • Missing missionary and no equal substitute with good eye contact and good view of the fucked pussy.

        • bad video quality
        • bad lighting
        • bad performances
        • almonst no eye contact
        • bad editing
        • bad angles

        Everything else is imho simply "taste".

        The number one immersion breaker for me is when the girl is only looking at one of the two camera lenses making it almost look like she's talking to someone over your shoulder, rather than in between the two cameras as if she's making direct eye contact with you. It's gotten a lot more rare in VR nowadays thankfully, but so frustrating when it occasionally does still happen.

        Also when the girl makes very little eye contact, and is instead closing her eyes or looking too often at the other girl in the scene, looking at the ceiling or your chest while riding, etc. It's such a big turn on when the girl practically locks eyes with you while riding or while she's laying back getting fucked, and is making plenty of passionate eye contact thoughout.

        The biggest one for me is a completely unrealistic scenario. She just hit my house with a ball and doesn't know how to repay me so I guess we are going to have to fuck. If she says i'm her stepbrother in the first minute. I can't unhear that and the immersion is done. I'm way to old to have a stepsister. They can even be worse than that.           I've said as much before, but I'd personally love to see more super-cheesy "classic" porn scenarios in VR, scenarios just as silly as you described but that fully buy into it (not ones that are unintentionally bad, like I think you were talking about).

            I basically came into this thread to say this exact thing. My number one immersion breaker is this business of constantly switching it up. You know the cliche of women saying "right there, just do that, don't stop"? Well, I'm like a woman. Or maybe it's that I'm old.
