Make sure to get the right headset https://www.sexlikereal.com/blog/216-whats-the-best-headset-for-vr-porn
Cardboards are gone for the better

Feel like the same goes for any phone-based VR headsets at this point ๏ธ
Which is quite a shame, GearVR for example was really good, until they cut support for it.
ibins Yeah, never used one myself but from conversations & reviews it definitely seemed to be the best of the phone headsets by a pretty wide margin. Just comes a time when for Samsung, FB/Meta, etc. it's no longer worth supporting. Same goes for SLR, have to focus our efforts on the best options rather than trying to support everything out there.
It was actually much better then the Quest1 and mostly even then the first generation PC based Headsets (Rift, Vive etc). The Quest 2 is actually the first standalone headset that surpasses what you could do with GearVR.
The biggest downside was the much too narrow and fixed IPD.
Die to the cardboard and Phone VR. It is crap.

ibins The biggest downside was the much too narrow and fixed IPD.
Can you elaborate on this, what had the downside, the gearvr or quest 2? And why is a downside?
I just got a quest 2 recently after 5 years on a gearvr, my last phone was a s10+ played up to 6k HD, streamed great on gizmo, deo and skybox... the quest 2 is good too but it comes down to the comfort for me, the gear vr was so much comfortable then this q2. I feel less immersive with q 2, cuz I'm always fiddling with the headset for the sweet spot, if i take it off the stupid guardian comes back on, then im looking for the sweet spot , the stupid light rays and ring reflection really suck. I already had to buy two different facegaurds wich help sum but not really.
The gearvr imo was the best headset for media watching. It was simple, convenient and comfortable
I'd still use it if they didn't update my phone with the stupid update.
Also 1920p and 4ks files looked great, even tho I could play 6khd I stuck with 4ks.
I enjoy the q2 but I have love hate relationship with it.
Vrsumo2017 Samsung made the best VR glasses, almost effortlessly. The Gear VR were fine and I'm still using the Samsung Oddysey Plus and they hold up even today.
It's a tragedy that Samsung abandoned VR and a double tragedy that the monopoly is now in the hands of an evil company like Facebook.
I refuse to buy a Quest 2, I'm waiting for another manufacturer to release decent and cheap glasses.
Can you elaborate on this, what had the downside, the gearvr or quest 2? And why is a downside?
The GearVR, and well it is a downside if your IPD does not fit the one from the GearVR, and being so small it also results in a pretty low FOV.
the quest 2 is good too but it comes down to the comfort for me, the gear vr was so much comfortable then this q2.
I can not really agree to this, default they are actually both rather uncomfortable, but you can improve the Quest 2 a lot with the alternative headstrap, there are even third party solutions.
if i take it off the stupid guardian comes back on, then im looking for the sweet spot
You can disable the guardian in the developer settings or can switch it to 3DOF as well where no guardian is available, but then it largely becomes a GearVR, although this is not much of a downside for watching videos.
Also 1920p and 4ks files looked great, even tho I could play 6khd I stuck with 4ks.
6k is a lot of improvement for VR over 4k, and 1080p is pretty much unwatchable.
I enjoy the q2 but I have love hate relationship with it.
Quest 2 does pretty much everything better, more resolution slightly more FOV, at least it has a (although quite poor) IPD adjustment. The only real downside, well it is no OLED and contrast therefore is way worse.
ibins well it is no OLED
The new quest gonna have OLED?
I have no idea, havenยดt heard really anything about it.
Vrsumo2017 I don't think(?) there's much official info about the next headset(s) from FB/Meta, at least not that I've come across, but I think the likelihood of an OLED screen is pretty high. Just seems like the next natural/logical step for improved visuals (as far as the display itself).
