  • What's the leading factor of immersion?

Having the male character look somewhat like me helps so I definitely prefer the white male talents to be used. I still like some scenes that he looks nothing like me but definitely feels less immersive.

The good eye contact and talking to me saying stuff like "do you like that, good" "do you like these, yeah I knew you would" these kinds things really make it feel like your part of the scene.

Higher resolution definitely helps too. 5k is the lowest I usually watch there is few scenes that are nearly 5k that I still watch but mostly I have stopped watching 4k content because the blurry effect is definitely a immersion breaker. And I would obviously prefer it if every scene could be shot in 8k but it's okay I still enjoy a lot of the 5k content very much.

The scene that I felt the most immersion from was this one by Katarina Hartlova her acting just really makes it feel like you are there. It's one of the few 4k scenes that's definitely still worth watching and it looks about the same as 5k.

There's a lot of very good answers in here, and just from a technical standpoint I have to agree with @albertleder. Especially when it comes to FOV. Been using a Pimax 8K X for maybe 8 or so months at this point, and I genuinely don't think I would ever go to another non-ultrawide FOV headset. It makes such an enormous difference imho when nearly your whole vision is taken up by the scene 🤯

    Leading factor of immersion: Proximity.

    The only real difference between 2D and 3D porn is that in 3D you can create the illusion that the girl is right there on you. Adding close whispers, kissing, and other ASMR-like touches gives even more immersion.

    If the girl is far away, you may as well be watching 2D. That's what these amateur studios don't get.

    LordCrash Not suggesting that higher-res stuff, produced well, doesn't look better. It does. But for me, plenty of older videos in 4K look good enough that it doesn't detract from my immersion. Whereas some of the early stuff, and plenty of even recent stuff from some studios, looks bad enough that it detracts from my experience. I have Quest 2 so I can play most high-res content natively.

        As some have pointed already:

        1. Proximity - some JAV and SLRO scenes nail this, best is when you can nearly feel her/their breath, hair... SLRO should experiment with some novel angles or positions that some JAV scenes used (see screenshots by @g2kbuffetboy in the 'underserved niche' thread)
        2. Natural acting that is not too unbelievable and fake. e.g. Kay Lovely and Xxaylana/Apryl both nailed it in their recent 3somes. Sadly audio cuts in certain SLRO scenes ruin it for me, so do 3some scenes where the performer the viewer is not engaging is not doing much.
        3. Use of props - Has two effects - one to make the viewer settle in the setting and two as a means to interact with viewer. Most recent sexual alchemy scene used smoke which surprisingly worked well, also the use of 'sniffable' panties in the Freya/Hazel 3some. Some JAV scenes even have extras as actor/actresses that make the scene muchhhh more believable (e.g. family members, students in a school)

        That's super interesting. I definitely find that if it's a model that I'm super into that I'm willing to put up with much poorer of picture quality, but in general unless I'm really into the specific model or scene, I have a very tough time with probably 98% of the 4k era of scenes. Even a lot of "early-5k" is pretty rough on my eyes, from like pre-2020 maybe.

        Really does just come down to how we each perceive things I suppose.

          love it when I find one...sometimes it only takes 20-30seconds of something good...that you can go back to over and over.

          proximity/closeness is probably number 1 (i won't even spend 1min on a clip if I skip ahead and they have not gotten close enough)

          eye contact and even talking to you can be pretty awesome and engaging...done right, it's GO-TIME

          When I think of Immersive VR Porn, I think of the best VR porn of all time, or that I've ever seen so far. Really that's what it is because the whole goal of VR porn is to make something that feels very real and is sort of a treat to experience. It's almost like wow, it feels like you're really there or this feels like it could be real. I think what this thread needs is some example videos as nobody really knows what someone means by eye contact. Every VR video has eye contact at some point. So I think you have to be more specific and mention which videos in particular did it the best for you so others can go check them out. I know it's all personal preference, but still share the video names if you can. Eye contact isn't as big of a factor for me. For me, I am more into the setup/intro really pulling me in and making me feel like I am really experiencing it or am there.

          Some examples of the most immersive vr porn that come to mind are:

          Lena Reif - DDFNetwork Fucking Draculas Daughter (POVR)
          The scene opens with a girl with no vampire teeth in a very gothic outfit. She gives you looks like she's hiding something or has a secret to reveal. She shows you an old map of Transylvania, it's on some old parchment paper. It looks like it could be a real map, it's well done. Her outfit is well done. The intro is sort of eerie and she teases a bit. From there you see a puff of smoke as she shifts into a vampire and has vampire teeth. So far this is one of the best vampire/roleplay type VR scenes I have seen and recommend checking it out. I thought it was really immersive if you take your time and enjoy the intro.

          Mia Malkova - Fidelio I (NaughtyAmericaVR)
          This is one of their most favorited/most liked VR videos on their entire site. It's an old VR video from 2016 so the quality is a bit more grainy. It was so popular that they made a Fidelio II and III, and they give nods to the whole thing in other VR videos where the girls will say they just got back from a Fidelio party. Basically it's a Stanley Kubrick Eyes Wide Shut type parody where you receive a note with a password written on it and you go to a large mansion. A butler opens the door asking for the password and you enter and are greeted by masked women everywhere. It's very well done and one of the best VR porn scenes I think that has been done as far as immersion goes. The way Mia Malkova is introduced is you walk to the bottom of a long staircase, masked women walk out single file and line up on the sides of the stair case and Mia Malkova then stands at the top of the staircase looking down at you and walks down the stairs to greet you. It's very cinematic and well done. It really could be redone to modern standards but I'd say it's a must see scene just to feel the immersion.

          Peta Jensen - American Daydreams (NaughtyAmericaVR)
          This is also one of the most liked/favorited videos of all time on NaughtyAmericaVR. It's an old VR scene from 2016 so it's also a bit grainy. They recently remastered it. To be honest I'm not even that attracted to Peta but I checked it out because I was curious why it was so popular. The scene opens with you sitting outside in the sand watching the tide roll in. The sound of the tide, the time of the day, seeing Peta out in the water and walking towards you. It was shot slow and peacefully that it really feels like you are out there. You are basically sitting out there listening to the tide roll in and out and they captured really good audio of it. It's such a relaxing and nice immersive intro that you're like wow, this is really nice. I think this is another great example of a scene that could be redone with modern standards and it would be really popular.

          Some scenes on SLR that I thought were immersive...

          Jia Lissa - Long Time No See (SLR)
          The intro of hanging out with friends outside, seeing them smiling and happy to see one another in normal everyday clothes on the streets. Riding up in an elevator. Playing around in the apartment and watching her act silly. It felt very real and immersive and builds up attraction for her. It's one of the most favorited videos on SLR and I think it's because of the immersive intro that feels very real. The locations are all familiar. Who hasn't been outside with friends, or road up an elevator full of people and saw an attractive girl in the elevator with you. Or hanged out with a group of friends and saw one of the girls acting really cute that you were attracted to.

          Whitney Wright, Vanna Bardot, Emily Willis, Ana Foxxx - VRBangers Stolen The American Whore Story 1984 (SLR)
          The VR scene starts with you driving down the road and coming across a group of girls stranded when their car broke down. You're a mute so your daughter Whitney talks for you to them. You all go back to your house in the woods and there is junk outside the house everywhere so it feels very odd. Everything about the intro gives you a horror vibe. Without ruining too much, it's a very immersive intro worth checking out. There are two versions, the regular and the director's cut. Try to watch the longer version with the full intro, which should be the director's cut.

          Reese Robbins - Truth or Dare with Stepsister (SLR)
          Reese is really cute and plays truth or dare with you in different locations. The conversation and locations make it feel really immersive and real and build up attraction for her. The intros really feel like you're hanging out with her and each time it leads to a little more which is very similar to how life is. I also really like the style of changing real world locations and multiple setups and scenes, multiple outfits, times, etc. Overall I really like seeing new releases from this studio, and think this is probably their best video so far.

            I totally agree with you. For me the immersion goes together with the care put into the background of the scene.

              JENNA REID - WANKZVR ROAD TEST (POVR)
              This scene is so hot that it could be turned into a popular VR series. On POVR it has 100+ user comments with a lot of people talking about how hot it is. Go look at the last VR scene you orgasmed to and look how many comments are on it, likely only a few on most titles. So 100+ comments is actually a lot showing very high demand for scenes like this. This is definitely one of the better VR immersive experiences where you really feel like you are Quantum Leaped into the body and going through it.

              You start off in the passenger seat as Jenna walks up to your rolled down window and gives you a dirty look like "ugh, I really don't want to do this driving test". You are her driving instructor and are supposed to take her out on the road for her driving test so she can get her drivers license. She is a shit talking teen who complains and whines and has a really bad attitude. She is very bitchy. She sits in the driver seat with a cute schoolgirl skirt on and you take her out with your clipboard for her driving test. Eventually she pulls the car over on the side of the road and leans over and blows you in the car to try to coerce you into passing her for her driving test. You can see her nice curvy teen ass as her skirt slides up. She then crawls over into the passenger seat and rides you cowgirl while leaning her head back on the dashboard. All this is happening on the street during daytime as cars drive by. The sex continues later on with her standing and bending over inside the car and taking it from behind. My favorite angle is seeing her standing outside the car and arching her head back as she's pounded from behind while wearing her cute skirt above her cute little ass. It's a slightly older scene that needs more VR videos done just like it with a lot more teens. Highly recommended.

              It has a few niches in it, it has public sex, a real world roleplay type example where you are basically re-enacting or living someone's life as a driving instructor, and it has the trash talking/shit talking/bad attitude theme. I think a lot of guys can relate to experiencing a woman being upset, having a bad attitude, insulting, talking crap, going through a breakup, being in a bad mood, moody/grumpy, etc. There is something very realistic about it that you don't see often in VR porn, but it is more real to nature and immersive.

              I think it's most immersive when a girl seems genuine. That she seems comfortable, her self, present, you can see some personality, etc. It really sells the idea that there is an actual person in front of you which really adds to the immersion. The opposite of that would be the overacting you see a lot. Like the over the top moaning, fucking like she needs 10 more reps before hitting the showers, etc. Don't get me wrong, it can be nice to have the cock craving slut once in a while (vina sky comes to mind) but it's still far less immersive.
              In my experience it's mostly JAV that does this really well even though there is also the occasional non JAV scene. It's the pace, "closeness", the lack of robotic sex and the connection these girls make with the camera that sets a scene like this apart from what you usually see in western porn. That doesn't mean everything needs to be slow and vanilla btw. You can just as well have a girl that is wild and kinky as fuck but is still genuine (it has to fit the girl though).
              There are a few girls in western porn that I think tend to do this well too. Jureka Del Mar comes to mind. Not specifically my type but I often enjoy her scenes for just these reasons. https://www.czechvr.com/detail-1184-chinese-massage-parlor is a good example of this.

Still, I think this is where the next non technical leap in immersion can be achieved. Sell the viewer on the idea that there is an actual person in front of them, make us believe 🙂
