upgrade videos qualities by ourselves?

Many sites have upgraded their past 4k vidoes into 6k, l wonder how they did it ? they definitely use some kind tools.

Yeah I have watched these so called remastered versions and they look the same just a larger file usually so it's actually worse because it needs more space and the quality doesn't seem better. Maybe there is some improvements but I couldn't tell the difference was using a Quest 2.

I think the biggest thing is the fact that with some of the new 8k cameras that are out (or soon will be), "upscaling" won't matter. Can't upscale something when it's already crystal clear 😀

Cause l find the angel of some videos is too low .you sovled every question l asked thank you so much! Because my headset is out of time l have no access to test it myself.l am waiting the next generation of meta quest😔.

This Studio is filming since two months with the new Canon Fisheye stereo lenses in crystal clear native 8k quality. In the moment the Canon camera they are using is only capable of 30fps in 8k and have to be interpolated to 60fps but there will be a new Canon camera model released soon that is capable of 8k in 60fps and this will be a game changer. It's worth to look the scenes already now also if the scenes they are doing is not everyones cup of tea but let's consider them as a tech demo.

Remastered videos aren't necessarily 'simple' upscales. The studio still has the RAW footage which could be 4:4:4. Have alignment corrections and better colour grading.

4K RAW 4:4:4 to 4K 4:2:0
4K RAW 4:4:4 to 6K 4:2:0
Can produce better results. It will ofcourse also depend on the display used to view it. Since a 6K 180° video doesn't saturate the Quest 2 display it could have a perceived better quality.

First of all, keep in mind there is a difference between 3D rendered graphics and VR video resolution. You can not interchange them!

For 180° you would need about 8.7K and 17-ish K for 360°
(using a 110° diagonal FOV)

According to this list it's 113.46°

sheldoncooper Yep! The SLR app & DeoVR both have a couple of ways you can adjust the position of the video you're watching, that way you can more it up/down or left/right as much as you need to in order for it to "line up" for you. 👍️
