Given SLR seems to be a major player now in VR porn. Is there no way you could do a deal with the Japanese VR companies to get the uncensored versions of the movies? They pixilated them after the fact and only to appease the strict Japanese laws. There is no reason they wouldn't be able create two versions of each movie, one for them and one for Europe/America.

    AnthG this has been discussed at length other places. Apparently people who know say that if a JAV performer or studio releases uncensored porn outside of Japan, they could be banned from distributing in Japan. They won't risk it.

              AnthG mebejoe Correct - there is just an extensive list of reasons that releasing uncensored JAV is not really feasible currently. A whole host of legal reasons, industry. & cultural reasons as I understand it.

              Believe up until the last 14-15 seconds it was just showing off how fine-tuned it's possible to get the censoring. The final product will be the pixelated like those last 15ish secs.

                    mebejoe look at tracking. the mosaic can be thicker. It's important to showcase how precise AI censoring is.

                        Can't say much about the mosaic, except i hope the tech you are using will make production easier. I'm sure you know this better than me, but i noticed JAV producers find ways around the censorship, using tight fitting underwear, or dildos for blowjobs. Also for whatever reason assholes are not considered obscene, and i hope you will utilize this fact 😉

                        wmfewmgkqoozlnzmnn I am not an expert, but my understanding is that studios that release uncensored content are either not based in Japan, and/or are not releasing content in Japan.

                        Basically - they are shooting and releasing content specifically for release outside of the Japanese market, and if they tried to release censored content in Japan along with the uncensored versions outside of Japan, it would lead to a long list of legal and industry issues.

                        Plus there's arguments to be made about the quality/castings/etc. of non-censored JAV vs JAV released inside Japan since they're really two difference industries, but I'll save that for another time.

                              Yes. Japan is consistently the 2nd highest spending per person (behind S. Korea), and the adult film market as a whole in Japan is worth over 1 billion USD (https://www.statista.com/statistics/1125880/japan-market-size-non-contact-sex-self-pleasure/).

                              AFAIK the huge majority of content in Japan is pay-per-video, for example with R18.com (which I believe only recently may have started a streaming subscription option?). So SLR entering the market with an unlimited streaming option of higher-quality scenes (as opposed to the common 4k JAV releases) could be absolutely huge.

                                  ableman Japanese adult video market is huge, but that's beside the point. It's not about making it avaliable on the Japanese market, it's about making it in the first place. JAV talent doesn't appear in uncensored videos period.
