1tb microsd wont last long if you are downloading high quality and your phones battery wont last longer either. better to use a hdd and if you dont have a pc buy a cheap mini pc of some kind. it will scale better and last way longer into the future...

doublevr bad ISPs and bad internet infrastructure 🙁

doublevr No

Even with a gigabit internet connection, I would much rather own my videos than stream them.
All it takes is for videos to disappear, for my ISP to have a problem, for you to have a problem...
Anyway, there are many reasons why I prefer to download than to use streaming.

GetReal Very nice tutorial, but is based on the use of DLNA, except, it will soon be removed from deovr, so it will no longer be possible.

...there is a lot of content out there with scripts that is not on SLR.

GetReal XBVR is a simple web interface for content management like Plex, nothing more, nothing less.
It allows you to create your own local streaming service (which makes DLNA useless).

GetReal The problem is absolutely not, it is that a dev has announced the imminent death of DLNA on Deovr and SLR app, whether you have a pc or not will not change anything.

As long as it works, so much the better, but it's better to plan now than to be faced with a fait accompli and have no alternative.

GetReal changed the title to Deleted Guide .

No!!
I have way too many videos that are not and most likely never will be available on SLR.
If DeoVR becomes a streaming only player, then I will be forced to use some other player that still supports local files which will lead to me not streaming anymore...and then eventually I will stop paying for streaming.
Face the reality!
