Personally the multi-user experience doesn't interest me, though I'm sure there are plenty of people who will be into it. I can see a lot of "multi-user + interactive" potential for things like long-distance relationships, camgirls, etc.

doublevr I'm not really sure how to match videos. Perfectly it's like going around the corners of an old town for various experiences.

This definitely interests me quite a bit though. I can imagine some sort of 3d environment, whether it's completely CGI or done via 3d photos, that would be something like what VRBangers tried to do with Dezyred but on a much larger scale.

Could be a town/neighborhood/whatever that you can explore through & be engaged with, where different places and interactions can lead to different scenes & scenarios happening. Super abstract, but again- basically a better more immersive version of what dezyred tried to do. Choose-your-own adventure type of thing.

The success of apps like Big Screen Beta, VR Chat, and Rec Room show that the potential is there, and many ideas can be grabbed from their implementations.

As VR and talks about the metaverse continue to become more mainstream, it's likely that going meta is a great choice. I just hope that the website will remain simple and unaffected. Was thinking about making a poll, but the results would probably look discouraging, so will just say the meat of it here.

When VR first became a thing and Oculus Rift and other PC/VR headsets released, SLR app/website was there to accommodate people that wanted porn. When standalones like Quest released, DEO VR app was there as a work-around for people that wanted porn. Whenever there comes a time when a large-scale virtual world becomes like the Matrix, SLR Blockbusters (rated "Safe") will be there for people that want porn.

In each case there is always a new batch of unsuspecting customers that come along for the ride simply because we are met where we are. So while some of us like me are from the 1st group and not interested, some may be from the 2nd group and partially interested, while the 3rd group of the future will naturally be inclined and interested.

edit: Another thing to consider is that Big Screen Beta which is most likely used with porn (judging from my early use and other early user-reviews) is less popular than the other 2 mentioned. That could mean going meta is not a great choice if resources could better be used elsewhere. Because porn is generally not tolerated by the greater community, meta-porn interactions would not be as popular as intended (compared to its non-porn counter-parts). Also porn-viewing tends to be a private affair among people who may generally be less social.

Some really good points here and on NFTs. I feel like we can put all those things together and make it work where everyone has failed. I guess the only option is to look for people to breathe life into it.

doublevr I think it has a lot of potential as well but I don't think that the people who believe in it will implement it. Takes quite some time, special skills, teamwork, etc. If you want to make this happen some central coordination and incentives are required. You could setup a discord channel for people that are willing to contribute and create a roadmap together that with some backing (financial or other sort of incentives) from SLR. Just saying, I don't believe someone will just pick this up but maybe I'm wrong.

It might work with an integrated voice changer, so you could become whatever VR character you want. Kind of like a VR version of Second Life. Second Life works, because most people text chat. When you add in voice, it can break the illusion.

How long until we have some form of haptic suit like in “ready player one” or “upload”. What do you think will drive that technology a game or someone wanting to feel a deeper connection in porn. This tech could be driven by anything from someone wanting a deeper connection in porn to s&m play.

What about group situations, you go to a strip club to see the dancers, sit in a seat or get a private show. Maybe it’s a live show with your favorite porn star. With real-time processing and AI she sits on a toy on “your” chair and you feel it with your handy. The sensation and touch could be even better with that haptic suit mentioned above. No sitting on your hands here, and who knows what happens in that champagne room.

What about that virtual bachelor party with all your buddies that are located across the globe now and can’t make it back. (A perfect mixed reality situation)

Maybe it’s not for everyone but for a gay population people could be watching a video together and using hand tracking to j/o together.

Again not for everyone but what about orgies. With realistic avatars and other tech this could be a really interesting segment.

How about getting a room in deepfake hotel and playing out your fantasy with someone you would love to be with, or you could be with a lost love gone too soon, or even do that thing with your S/O that just isn’t on the menu.

It may not appeal to everyone at first but that’s the way iterative development works. The metaverse is supposed to be a place of infinite possibility. Not a one size fits all but an every size for everyone. Yes it will be challenging, yes it will take time and resources, but all great technology advancements that move the needle are.

Stop thinking about where we are right now (that’s already obsolete). Instead think about where you want to see things go in the future. Dream big, nothing is off the table in the direction we are heading.

Pipolaki I’m skeptical.

That website is boilerplate, most pages link to the same couple sub page.

The content on those pages is only high level data you get from page 1 results of metaverse or PWC metaverse searches.

There are grammatical errors all over the place. Granted the company is in Europe but if you are going to translate, you best be making sure the translation are correct otherwise users will quickly think the site is shady.

I LOVE that thay post their roadmap, …but it’s ambitious for a large company let alone a startup. (Q2 ‘22 just gonna go build the entire backend/front end ✅). …go ask any dev you know to give you a swag on how long it will take to build a scalable backend…I bet it’s more than 3 months 😉

There’s no demos of what they are building.

At this point it all seems like hype.

Your doubts are fully understandable, but we will soon make them fly away 😉

We published some preview screenshots of our Metaverse and a preview video is in the work.
We also have confirmed our partnership with VRBangers (Big name in the VR adult industry) with their building already integrated in the Metaverse (and we are in talks with other big players).

We are still right on track to follow our roadmap and release our alpha version online early Q1 2023 (access will be limited at first but plenty of videos of it will be available by then, including live gameplay).

As of back-end/front-end development, as will tell you every good startup developper, it's easy to move fast when you use the right tools (unity, webxr, fully stacked agile nodejs libraries, kubernetes, mongo cloud Atlas and so on and on) , and way faster than in a Big company (where they use 20 engineers to do a one man job).

We are currently improving our work in terms of communication and marketing, we have been fully focused on development until now (landpage site is currently in rework).
