  • Downloaded videos sized wrong for quest 2

I've watched some videos online and everything looks good, but when I download the same videos and watch them the models are too big.

I was downloading the videos to my computer and using skybox to watch those videos on my quest 2. The videos I've download so far are all downloaded in the LR_180 format. I've tried changing the filenames to some other things like 360, F180_OU or MKX200 but nothing seems to fix the sizing issue.

I've noticed that when watching online if you pause the whole image changes size, but when you unpause it quickly corrects. However for the downloaded video it seems like it is always playing at wrong size and I'm not sure what is wrong

user854 skybox to watch those videos on my quest 2.

This could be the problem. Most SLR Originals are 200-degree fisheye videos. DeoVR is the only readily available app on the Quest 2 that supports this format. SkyboxVR does not.

Try DeoVR and see if it fixes the issue.

user854 Yeah, definitely agree with raider968 as far as the 200 degree fisheye being the likely culprit with the distortion you're seeing, but only if you're talking about SLR Original scenes in combination with Skybox.

      I'd suggest you try:
1.) renaming the files to their original names (aka the names they had when you downloaded them). Changing file names/extensions can alter how they are displayed.

2.) try playing the scenes in the SLR app or DeoVR (and make sure whichever app you use is up-to-date). Most other apps including Skybox are not able to correctly play the 200 degree scenes like SLR Originals, and instead jam them into 180 degrees resulting in distorted scenes.

3.) If you're specifically NOT talking about SLR Originals scenes, then I'd suggest you still try the SLR app/DeoVR instead, and if that fails post a few scene names/links here as example. Always a chance (especially with older scenes) that you're seeing things correctly and the models straight up are just too big. Tech has improved a lot in the past few years haha.

That was it! I downloaded DeoVR, setup my computer for DLNA and it worked.

      Thanks for your help
