The theme has never really died.
But like you said, all from the Days of the VR PotatoCam. Same thing that killed xVirtual. Wildly experimental, incredible dedication to costumes & makeup, terrible visual quality product.
For every guy who posts about VRPorn being boring & formulaic and they want something 'different', they keep forgetting that most everything has been done in VR by now, and fizzled. Because it just wasn't a money maker to cater to those fetishists who mistakenly believe everyone is on their bandwagon or because the product quality was stone-aged.
@PcbDude82 If you can produce top quality, well-mastered footage and couple that with talent that perks people's ears up, you could use motor madness as your hook to stand out from the crowd. Wet in the Vette and Breakfast for Tiffany are two of my SLR faves, mostly for Cali and Violet, but also for the sick AF wheels used on the set. But even if you talked Melody Marks into boning on a '52 Vincent Black Lightning or Anna Claire Clouds smashing in a '58 Impala Drop Top, it's gotta be pro footage. Not some 30fps Vuze XR garbage that gets frame-blended in Premiere Pro for eye-gougingly bad 60fps.
