  • Video fragmented and laggy in higher resolutions?

As per the title, it's fine up to 2160p, anything after that turns into big pixels, freezes and lags. It's not bc my computer is weak, i have an i7 6700k and a 1070, so i'm unsure how to fix this

mrkhaled Can be a bunch of things. This sounds like a codec issue.

Could you check if the following codecs are installed on your Windows system?

    • HEVC - h265 video files up to 8k with app
Microsoft store - It is $1/1€ however
or get it free here. (see attacked image below which one you need.)

    • AVC - h264 video files up to 4k in web-browser and app
K-Lite codec pack -OR- LAV Filter pack - Both are Free

NOTE! If you already bought the HEVC codec then this is still available in your Microsoft account on their app store!

If you already installed these previously, it is possible something changed, deleted or uninstalled one or more parts. The K-Lite codec pack comes with a tool that can reset everything back to their defaults. Press the windows key and type codec tweak tool.

if your headset is not sufficiently powered for the resolution of the video, it will get more and more laggy as you play it
(I get that on my Quest 1)

Which headset do you use? A 1070 isn't really that good for running high-res VR porn, especially not for demanding hardware like e.g. the Reverb G2. That could be the reason why the higher res videos don't work properly. Make sure to check your CPU and GPU usage while running the scene to check whether your HW is maxed out or not.

Deinonychus Make sure you don't use h264 higher than 2160p. For the higher resolutions use h265.
