Hi hi! Finally got around to watching our SLRO scene with Alex Coal and I've gotta say it came out really really well! https://www.sexlikereal.com/scenes/your-mistress-awaits-23105
Saying "Alex Coal is the best performer of 2021" probably sounds like fighting words, but hear me out. First off, I think attributes that encompass the "best performer" title means that they are a) a real performer, and b) their performance excels in the overall broad strokes of a scene (position, body angles, etc.) but also exhibits an understanding of the nuances that make VR an "immersive" experience.
Performer vs Someone Performed On
I believe there are two types of adult content creators: those who perform and those who are good when performed upon.
The former are often cam models and create their own POV content, so they have a really good understanding of proximity play, controlling their dialogue delivery in theme with the character they're portraying, knowing which angles and sides of their body look best on camera, and how to take direction and execute on direction without breaking character or eye contact with the viewer.
Some actors excel at 2D 3rd person POV because they don't need to interact (eg. look at) the camera and can concentrate on just being present. This allows them to exchange energy with their scene partners and play off one another to deliver an exciting performance. I'm not bashing these actors, but I think that an amazing 2D scene performer doesn't necessarily guarantee an immersive VR performance.
I think Alex Coal showed in her recent scene that she checks all the boxes of what makes a "performer" and then goes above & beyond by being able to improvise dialogue on the fly, add small movement details to her facial expressions and mannerisms which help bring a character to life, and most importantly she knows how to "act with her eyes," which is extremely important in those closeup shots.
There are a lot of fantastic VR scenes, and a lot of amazing performers, but so far I think Alex Coal has put out the best VR performance of 2021, awards be dammed.
