It all depends, but I quite often mimic positions according to what's happening in the scene to make the experience feel more real, whether standing up in front of the model as she walks into the scene, sitting down when she's facing the camera while on her knees, laying down on my back when she's on top, etc. Most of the time however I prefer laying on the bed with some pillows behind my head.
