Greetings, A couple of weeks ago my download speeds dropped and they have been running slow since. My connection is 16Mb/down (the best they will sell me out in the woods where I live) so usually I download from SLR around 1.8-1.9MB/sec. A couple weeks ago, it dropped to about 600KB/sec and sometimes slower than that. I emailed support and they have been very helpful in trying to help me figure it out, but still haven't been able to really solve it. The SLR speedtest used to show 16MB but now has only been giving me 4-5MB.
I tried a bunch of a other websites and found my download speeds are suffering at other sites too. For example, downloading drivers from Nvidia's website, I could only get like 500KB/sec. I tried some sample videos from Czechvr and it is about the same as SLR, 500-600KB/sec. Virtualtaboo however downloads at full 1.8MB/sec. WankzVR only hit 100KB/s few days ago, but today they are going full speed. Other services like Steam and Epic Launcher download at full speed all day, no issues, so it seems like there is just segments of the 'net that are running slow for me. Is anyone else experiencing this lately? I've been a member for a year now and the last few weeks is the first time I've experienced this. I'm don't think I can really blame SLR though since other websites that used to be fast are also running slow for me right now. I am curious if anyone else has experienced or noticed any drops in speed.
I think I may have just found a solution tonight though. Reading through some other threads, "Free Download Manager" was mentioned so I decided to give it a try. First video I downloaded with it at SLR downloaded at 1.9MB/sec solid. So if your having issues like I am, that might be worth a try.
