  • SLR payments are international?

Hey there,

I was hoping to pay for my membership with a reloadable "Vanilla" Visa card for ahem personal reasons.

I loaded money on to the card but neither Epoch nor Verotal are able to bill because according to customer service at Vanilla, you guys are an international charge?

What do I do here? No option to pay using a US processor so I can stay anonymous?

    Some of the cardholder agreements state

    Your Card/Virtual Account is valid in the U.S. only. It cannot be used at merchants outside of the U.S., including
    internet and mail / telephone order merchants outside of the U.S

    Some others have

    Your Card/Virtual Account cannot be: (1) redeemed for its
    cash value; (2) used to obtain cash in any transaction; (3) used for illegal transactions; (4) used to make
    foreign transactions; or (5) used for purchases where recurring payments may occur, such as subscriptions,
    memberships, rentals, etc

    I didn't go through all of them, so I don't know if any nor which would allow international subscription payments.

        Rakly3 Right the Vanilla card allows US payments only. The question is, since I think SLR is US company, why isn't there a US based way to make payment? Also, does this mean that there's no way to get money off this card I've pre-funded and into SLR's bank account?

            gingaskunk You're not paying to us. You're paying to Epoch/Verotel. We don't have any user information besides an email address. This by design.

                Rakly3 Okay thanks for the clarification. However to be clear, there's no way to get this money off the Vanilla card into SLR's bank now, correct? Just checking.

                  Epoch accepts PayPal. Would you be able to add the card to your PayPal, then use it as the funding source for a PayPal Epoch transaction?

                  Thanks all for the follow up. I'm going to give up on the Vanilla card and just find something else ot buy with it. I've paid using my regular credit card.

                  It is a very unfortunate situation as some need to be discreet and a gift card is an easy way to go this route.

                  Any suggestions for a workaround without using your bank institution?

                    Mkramer1974 I obviously don't know your situation, but have you considered PayPal? If nothing else it's an additional layer, and as far as privacy- when I've subscribed via PayPal in the past, it's shown on my bank statement as "PAYPAL X. DATATECHME", which is fairly nondescript all things considered.

                      There is a payment company called PayGarden, which accepts gift cards as payment. Some of the other sites support it.

                      Verotel not Epoch would take the Vanilla Gift cards in the past. Just even a couple months ago.Can someone on the Sexlikereal team get just one of their payment methods to work for a giftcard.

                      There is a decent amount of money to be made to allow the gift cards through I would think.
