Redhulk50 Can anyone tell me what's the average battery life when using Quest 2 on the Deovr app SLR? I usually get about 2 hours when watching SLR videos but I was wondering does the battery life decrease as the headset gets older?
PossiblyAPolarBear Yes. Any battery is going to lose capacity over time. Popular Mechanics has a fairly straightforward explanation of the factors influencing capacity fade. https://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/gadgets/how-to/a7432/why-your-gadgets-batteries-degrade-over-time-6705747/ From looking at the specs, a brand new Quest 2 should give you around 8-9 hours using Deovr. Many factors will impact this though, and I would expect a device which is a year old to have about 20% less capacity than that.
Rakly3 Yes, dying batteries isn't an industry conspiracy ;-) Though rapid or power charge is a sure way to destroy them rapidly too!
KingpinVR Get a mobile cooling fan and rubber band it to the front of the headset. I use one and it significantly increases my battery life and performance as it keeps the device cool for hours.
KingpinVR https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0927623WN/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_81BYQWPMZS7KEBZDQJW5 Something like this then just clip the top and bottom hooks off with some good scissors so it lays flat on the front of the headset...then i took my head strap off and put a big rubber band around the front to hold it in place. I keep the rubber band on permanently and just slide the fan off when im done.
Redhulk50 KingpinVR Thanks could you show me what the rubber band looks like and where I can purchase one ?
