Gear Vr Quits

Hi, using S8 with Gear VR on pretty much all videos I click to play it quits out of the app and loads the Oculus home screen. Pretty frustrating when I've got money on my balance. Any help?

gash7 Hey, we are looking for solution on this problem.
I have same setup and cannot reproduce the bug. You can use your balance to spend it on the website, but I'll let you now once we have a test build fixing it.

Hello! Could you please suggest exact video name you having problem with.
Could you also setup cardboard version of our app and try this video on it.
You can launch cardboard version even without cardboard itself. If it asks to scan cardboard QR-code you can use image from search: https://www.google.si/search?q=cardboard+qr+codes&newwindow=1&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjelJXi-5HZAhUCU1AKHeTHAlcQ_AUICigB&biw=1920&bih=925

devteam just tried holo girls free one and it quit to Oculus home screen

Sexy gamer part 2 to be exact. Just tried cardboard version and it did the same thing with the same video

Also...the cardboard app won't work, it did the first time partially but oculus just loads. Not sure how to get a cardboard app to work on Gear VR as as soon as you plug the phone in Oculus loads

If you meant just use it on my phone...I tried this also and when pressing a video it crashes and just loads my app drawer on my phone

Just tried Czech Vr foursome Christmas in the gear vr app and same thing...quits to Oculus screen

Unfortunately, we could not reproduce this problem on any of our devices.
Right now we are preparing new build with absolutely new engine.
Hope that will help, but it will take some time to finish it.
You can also try to reinstall Oculus Home on your phone. Sometime users has issues with that library.

I have exactly the same problem : when I try to play a video, after few seconds, it launches Oculus Home.

But it does not occur in the same condition of OP. It happens to me when I try to play any video : trailer or full video, even personal videos located on storage device.

It occurs systematically, and I know it worked perfectly before (around November 2017 at least)

My setup is:
- VR Headset: Gear VR Gen 2
- Device: Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G930F)
- Android: 7
- Root: yes

Also, for OP or for anyone interested, to use your Samsung Gear VR as a casual Cardboard, you need to disable Oculus services (as it won't detect when the headset is plugged). You will be able to launches any VR apps out from Oculus Store.
There are many of these apps which disable Oculus services (Package disabler). The one I use is "Cardboard for Gear VR", it behaves like a on/off switch. Root needed.
