• GOOGLE DAY DREAM 2017 FPS PROBLEM

it will be cool if i just get to use the old version. This really sucks. It worked perfectly fine before but after the update it's unplayable. ;(

    daydreamvr Hey,
Sorry, we can't reproduce the issue. I'm going thru forums right now in hope to find something...
Which OS versions you running? Is google vr services installed along with daydream app? (just checking in case)

my software is up to date/ yes I do have the app. All I ask for is the old version!! the old patch worked like charm! idk what's wrong 🙁

      daydreamvr Hey,
I get it, but we can't be blocked on updating with the issue, so it needs to be resolved anyway.
We can't roll back the version at this moment, one of our engineers is on days off now.

Can you try installing cardboard version and see if you get the same issue?

FYI - I am using daydream view with Pixel 2 and I don't have this problem. So I don't think it's a Daydream View issue.

I'm on an LG V30 using Daydream 2017 and I have this issue as well. Can't speak for old versions as this is my first time trying it. Super low fps on the menus and in videos

fw170 Hey, sorry to hear it doesn't work for you,
Can you try and install our Cardboard app and see if you have low fps as well? Please let me know.

Philip Cardboard app fps is fine, seems to be just the daydream app that lags

fw170 That's weird but certainly gives me more understanding where to look for the issue.
I'll send you a test build once we fix it.

            Best,
            SLR

Same here, with a Pixel and a V30. 5 FPS, even with loading videos from storage. With daydream 2017 and app.

georgewashington Hey, sorry to hear you have same issue.
What's your OS version tho? Can you try install cardboard app and see if it works?

I figured out how to fix this, basically the app defaulted AA to 6 and Super sampling to 1.7 (the max settings), turn these down in global settings and fps will increase. Works perfectly fine now @ 60fps.

Noob question but how exactly do you get to the settings to do this. I can't find it anywhere

Dr2d90 Play any video, then bring up the player and go to settings (upper right corner)
