  • PSVR files not working on my PS4

Hi, I download videos, but can't get them to play on my PS4.

I share a folder with DLNA and browses that on the PS4 and it works fine generally, but the files I download from you can't be played. I have tried to convert with Handbrake to the preset "Playstation" and then it works. But the conversion takes a lot of time, so it's no good solution going forward.

Have you done something wrong with your PSVR-versions? Am I doing something wrong? Aren't every PS4 version supported (I have an early slim).

    JOFAJOFA Hi

Which app are you using on your PS?
Did you download the PSVR file versions of the videos?

I use the built in media player. And I downloaded PSVR-version. I also tried other encodings without success.

JOFAJOFA Which DLNA server are you using?
      Is transcoding disabled?

The PS4 built-in media player does not play sbs 180 videos. It can only do flat 360 videos. So pretty much useless.

I'm using a Mac and running Serviio software to share DLNA. I might have missed this part with transcoding. I switched it off now and will try again. Thanks.

Wait, does this work and track motion in PSVR for 180 sbs? Why have I never heard of this?

Ahh. Finally got It working. I downloaded the app Rad on the PS4. And after registering an account I could access side loading and even view all the files shared with Upnp/DLNA. Works like a charm after fiddling about with the settings (SBS, 180, etc) inside the viewer for some of the videos.

I had a USB-stick in there as well, but didn't succeed in viewing files from it. But since the sharing worked I didn't look into it more.
