Regarding the search functions, I wanted to share some feedback I've been silently hoping would become features organically and never got around to writing it out, and feels particularly more relevant now with the upcoming phaseout of classic DeoVR for Q3. I'm unsure what the optimal solution would be but hopeful that if I described my limitations that it would help shape up some ideas in a future version.
I prefer certain niches more than others but often do not find the search function particularly useful in narrowing it down for me. For example if I were to search or add a tag for BJ, it appears that results would generally list all videos that happen to have BJ in it, but could range from it being a primary focus or just being a small fraction of the video.
Fortunately sometimes I come across studios that fall into the niches I like and it helps to follow them. Ideally however I would like to expand my horizons as well but what I look for is usually not easy to find.
Classic DeoVR includes search operators to include certain tags while excluding other tags, which is inconvenient to enter repeatedly but to an extent has helped narrow things down for me a little bit. I understand however that this is limited to classic and not currently available on the new app. In the new app, reducing the duration in the search criteria to 20 mins may help as well to a limited extent.
Some ideas I have, some of which may be more possible than others, include:
Most Useful:
- Ability to limit search results to videos that contain a minimum percentage of the tag searched
- Ability to search video titles only
Also Useful But Secondary to the Above:
- Re-establish search operators in the new DeoVR
- Add a feature to save search criteria to prevent having to re-toggle common/favourite search criteria (regardless on if search operators can be added or not)
- Update the duration criteria to include multiples of 5 or 10 minutes instead of 20
Hopefully it's not wishful thinking on my part but such improvements would be quite an upgrade from my perspective, and perhaps for other users as well.
