Looking to upgrade frpm PICO 4, but to what?

eos666

ive been using my pico 4 for a long time and would love to upgrade to something newer and better, but it seems there a very few new VR headsets similar to the p4 coming out.

are there any new noteworthy headsets coming out soon that would be a good replacement? basically id want better screen/lenses/FOV/resolution with similar usability (stand alone, inside out tracking, somewhat budget friendly)

eos666 I’d wait for the next best thing. Apple is bound to come out with a consumer version at some point. Steam Frame depends on what you want from VR, its a full PC with ability to play Steam games (locally), probably gonna be pricy though looking at the new Deck prices.

Quest 3 will be fine 👍
I havr pico 4, it was fun but in pt my environment looked over sized and grainy but it worked

Quest 3 would be a upgrade 👍

Vrsumo2017 I agree with this one. I also had pico4 but sold it and changed to use Quest3. It was way better. Less lens glare, less screen door effect. What I mostly hated about Pico4 was its picture distortion. It was like there was black hole in the center warping all the image. Some see it, some don't.

For me the Pico4 was better with picture overlap. Quest3 is like using binoculars 🙁 Pico4 feels more like seeing the action in front of you. For some this might be the number one selling point. I get that. It depends how your brains are wired and what "flaws" you can stand and what features are really dealbreaker.

Picouser Quest3 is like using binoculars

Hell yeah, with Pico 4 the binocular overlap wasn't even there, Pico 4 lense were bigger too, it was OK for regular vrporn, but pt was horrible, lol the real environment looked a Lil bigger then life...

I still got mine, use it for games, but rarely

Quest3, the over lap is there but not much...if you cross your eyes you see it more but while watching vr.porn its not noticeable, but I have the open face guard with a vrcover cushion, so that plays a factor to how much I see the overlap

But its a small sacrifice for replacing the Pico 4, plus in pt I don't see it at all.

Quest 3 would be good upgrade 👍
