🎉 Release – You can now hide categories

kingwizard

You've been asking for it – and it's here. On top of hiding individual videos, models, and studios, you can now hide entire categories too.

Just open any category page, tap the three-dot menu, and you'll find the hide option there. Everything you hide lands in Account Settings → Hidden Content:

If you've got any feedback or requests around it, we'd love to hear them!

Looks like they fixed the tags too. Thanks!

thank god

Hey, great that this feature's finally available again. I would prefer the listing to not be paged so aggressively though. There's room for way more than a 4x2 grid on each page, at least double the number of rows IMO.

It'd also be nice to be able to sort the entries by both date added and alphabetically.

EDIT: Hah, sorry, I just realized I was talking about the hidden studios, not categories. The alphabetical category listing is great, actually. If this feedback belongs in a different thread let me know.

Hidden studios bug

When browsing through search, in my case for BBC, if I choose a category, hidden studios are properly hidden. But if I don't choose a category and just hit the search button, hidden studios are not hidden. This seems like a bug.

AlexSLR

justanickname It is expected as hiding isn't applied to search.

That seems like a weird design choice. You hide a studio because you don't want to see their content. But the moment you search for something, there they are again. Kinda defeats the purpose of hiding them.

But anyway, thank you for the answer. At least I know it's not a bug. It's a feature. A frustrating feature, but intentional.

kingwizard If I hide a Studio, in the page of a performer I still see the scenes from that Studio, while if I hide a Category I don't see the Performer's scenes in that Category. Is this a feature or a bug?

AlexSLR

ansorre Can you please elaborate on this case?
Where do you see the hidden studio?
Did you hide a category from the performer's profile?
Is it correct that you hid the category and then reopened it?

diwanga69

justanickname you are correct, and your expectation is basic navigation that should be the norm. They have a difficult time understanding what “hide” means and why and how people would want it to actually work.

diwanga69

ansorre also a bug. If you hide a studio, category, or performer - they should NEVER appear anywhere else on the site. Somehow this is confusing to the devs.

fuzzorama fixed tags how? I didn't know tags were broken

Reeses

diwanga69 idk.... if I hide say tabpole studio (because why wouldn't you?), then search one of my favs like Shalina Devine, I would possibly want to see HER tadpole scene.

diwanga69

Simple solution. Add a toggle that turns all filters on and off sitewide, giving folks who choose to the ability to see if they might be missing stuff. I suggested this years ago, back when the search function worked appropriately. As it is now - filters that don’t do anything when searching or looking through other categories is mostly pointless / broken.

jay22111

diwanga69 agree with this

jay22111

@AlexSLR how can i hide complete categories even from search? For example JAV , the toggle doesnt seem to do anything in vr and find it clogging the feed overall. @kingwizard

AlexSLR

jay22111 Please update DeoVR to the latest version. Does the issue persist afterward?

Jamroro

kingwizard thanks and great work guys!

It really was a vibe killer having to scroll through a load of prolapsed arseholes just to find Molly Little or another decent performer 😂
