Why 99 % of members use BYOJ wrong?

If you dont know BYOJ means build your own journey. I think it is for premium members only and top 2 reasons (besides passthrough AI) for using SLR. It is like cutting, trimming and merging your best videos in SLR. You have to use web interface and Visual/Raw Json editor to modify episodes and it's start and end times. Easy to learn and fair simple. There are few things to improve but lets not go there.

When going to interactive videos I am litte bit baffled. It is 99 % full of crap. What is wrong with you people? Don't get angry and let me explain. Maybe you agree with me or not.

How 99 % of BYOJ videos work? At the beginning there are tall, tower like list of scenarios you can choose from. Usually the list is so high you can not see the top. Who has even patience to read all this? When you choose something video starts playing and at the end usually the same tall list comes in front of you again. Basically you are interrupted all the time and have to make choices. It is like you are watching a rough cut movie and also get commercials all the time. Not a pleasant when the aim is to watch directors cut movie nonstop.

My BYOJ videos

I have made about 250 BYOJ videos. What my BYOJ looks like? Here is example to search: 91-15974.It is made public, rest of them are private. It is short, contains only 4 segments from the same video and it is about 13 min long. Usually those are longer and have different videos merged. Some may have 5 different videos and almost 20 segments. Duration might be 30 minutes or longer. It all depends of material available.

It starts with headline like: AI DOG - Meagan Moore 91. AI means it is intended to watch using passthrough AI. DOG means position. It may contain doggy or missionary positions. Alternative is SIT and that contains positions you can use when viewer is in sitting position. 3 rd is quit obvious, it is the actors name. Last number is my rank to the video from 0-100. if there is no number it means video is not ready and it is under "construction".

My goal

That was the boring part. Now let's go to the point. My aim is to make and watch directors cut movie. What does it mean? You can watch it without choose anything and hands free. Basically you pick the best videos for example from Meagan Moore and decide what are the best parts of those moments you want to watch. No feet fetish etc Nash armpit bullshit you are so fed up and what ruins the moment. Best immersion possible. You trim it and make it play the best order possible. That means if model says: Lets have doggy you make the next scene doggy. Of course you have to make it loop these scenes nicely because you dont know when to cum 🙂

Using passthrough AI you can merge many different films together because surrounding do not matter. If the resolution and colors are close enough it does not matter if the same model is in church in scene 1 and after that in hotel in scene 2. Using passthrough AI you can only see the model and only postitions and colors matter. Without passthrough AI this would feel weird and do not work.

Conclusion

I dont understand why 99% of you want to choose the scene and disrupt the experience = rough cut film with commercials? If you have the vision, make it directors cut = best chosen parts, hands free and loop it. I think BYOJ is mandatory for example JAV movies. Those are usually 1,5 h long and contains lot of bad angles etc. You can easily make it 15 min long golden experience.

What do you think, did I make a point or did I sound like arrogant fool?

doublevr I hope big means better nor big mess. I would not hold my breath because you always overpromise but underdeliver. Lets hope this time is different 🙂

I would be happy to have faster transition time/lag between scenes. Otherwise this is quit perfect. Minor wishes maybe relocate your BYOJ in your list more easily and adjusting time even in shorter intervals (500 millisec). Sometimes there are situation where adjusting time in 2 seconds still does not affect the starting time even though it should.

Picouser because streaming short clips means buffering constantly. Also the process of making them is tedious af. Use Heresphere to tag local videos or use Avidemux to edit/direct your own scenes (both free). Better results, easier to do, no buffering.

I don't think this is available anymore on the new website, at least I can't find it. There is still "Interactive Videos" on the menu but this is actually videos with scripts.

I thought BYOJ was removed completely so I was surprised to see this post. I know they are planning on replacing it with 'something' but am I missing something else here, where I can actually use it?

adinihsan Buffering true. But that is why you have to avoid too short clips (less than 2 min). Tedious process yes and no. How else would you make it to enhance the process? Maybe integrate it to DeoVR...? More time goes to HereSphere tags and Avidemux etc. For me BYOJ is usually faster.

For those "better" full body passthrough videos I definitely use Heresphere and LosslesCut to edit those. Looks way better and as you said, instant transition between scenes (no buffering). I don'n understand why SLR priority is not make the player as good as HereSphere (video quality and instant transition)? If you can not do it or buy the developer then you have to partner with it somehow. Should be obvious, but is not.

But you have to admit there are some advantages using BYOJ. You dont have to buy huge hard drives to use local videos and you can use passthrough AI and merge different videos seamlessly. That really matters.

I do not know why everybody are so calm about missing BYOJ? SLR number 1 or 2 feature missing. How can anyone in their right mind decide to remove it? How stupid you can be? It is like Apple says they will transfer to Symbian. I would be furious and push SLR to bring it back. For me it is really hard to understand all the decision SLR has made and why it is still number 1 in Netflix of porn. How bad the competitors really are if you can manage with this kind of performance?

acjackson2431 You are right. I had plenty of free time and decided to post my thoughts and feelings about the topic.

Reading the comments I remembered it is removed from the new site (old site works for me?) and this may cause some confusion.

Maybe use should demand SLR more to rerelease this BYOJ feature. I am little annoyed that I purchased lifetime membership few year ago. My fear was if SLR does something this stupid I can not take my money and go somewhere else 🙁 Unfortunately there are no competition dealing with BYOJ and passthrough AI...

Picouser yes regarding AI PT. Other than that meh, storage is dirt cheap these days. Heresphere works because you just do it while watching, set up some hotkeys to update start-/end-/insert after tags. It also allows to merge (and randomize) vids and choose whichever tags you want to in- or exclude across your whole library, you have to choose 1 of 250 bjoys (which took a crap ton of time to create, and can be removed at any time), sit through buffering in between and when you want to swap to another you have to go find it etc etc.

It also doesn’t re-load the scene with every cut, which means scripts keep playing.

I would also like support for HS, idk wtf they’re doing with the new app lmao it has nothing new and tons removed

For me searching the number doesn't work on the new website and in DeoVR it finds all BYOJ. In DeoVR, I can see titles and usernames in the grid. As there are only 20 pages, this info should work.

If you did not know, we have finally new BYOJ in Beta phase. Has been more than 2 weeks now. I am surprised how little conversation there is about it.

You can use this new feature only by Deo VR Hyper. There are only few, almost none BYOJ videos made public. None of them works as I would like them to work. 99 % use it wrong as this topic says. Do you agree or not?
